LOL. I can be pretty amazing out there - twice, yesterday, I took a swipe with the plow, backed up for another pass, and some jerk scooted up and parked where I was just about to plow.

Amazing.

Glad all of you all are okay. It sure looked bad on the news!

xs, just heard on FNN that with windchill, DC is 0 degrees. I don't think I've ever been in 0 degrees!

"Unless the plat and original sale deed of the subdivision shows something, it appears that we are being scammed..."

The rancher could have sold the water/mineral rights to someone else. That was done a lot in CA.

I also heard on FNN that in the beginning of February you're going to have 60 degree weather. This is supposed to be a short (well, not to you), but strong weather front.

As in the 1812 War? The primary reason we won that war was because a hurricane and tornado hit DC at the time the Brits burned it down. They were ravaged after they burned the Capitol down and White House.

History channel buff here.

While you are checking back on the plats and plots and all, you might want to find out who owned your house all of the years prior to you buying it. You just may find out who your little friend is in the downstairs bedroom.

History channel buff here.

It would be a fine channel if it wasn't for all the left wing commentary. They don't even hide it. During their "French Revolution" show they had on as one of the talking heads the guy who wrote the book "A Defense of Marxism"

Cyber and I catch them all the time in their leftest propaganda. But I still love history. Of course, two different historians will see history totally differently.

For some reason Cyber and I watch PBS and BBC on Saturday. I kind of get tired of politics every single day.

I know what you mean, though.

good pro-life sermon this AM from Fr. O'brien, in honor of tomorrow's March for Life. xshub, xsboy and xsteen are going to go on the St James bus to the March. gonna be chilly!

it was funny because Father O'brien marveled that the rectory actually received calls asking if Mass would be cancelled, as if it ever would be. that was kind of my reaction. if it is a mortal sin to miss Mass, what kind of sin is it to not provide a Mass for your flock? regardless of the weather. it is up to individuals to determine whether they can truly make it to Mass safely or not. no excuse for a Pastor to not provide a Mass.

Gabz, if the catholic churches in your neck of the woods cancelled Mass i can't help but think they are of a very liberal variety, meaning Protestant-like, in outlook.

Hello ladies:

Got back about an hour ago from grocery shopping. The roads are very clear here in the suburbs outside DC. The salt trucks and plows have done a fine job. Though the shopping center's parking lot is another story.

Got my obligatory gallon of milk and toilet paper. I was low on both. Decided while shopping that it's good stew weather. Have a huge pot simmering away downstairs in the kitchen.

Jack.

Howdy, Jack!!!

Hubby came home from work early because nothing was going on. He said the main road through these parts (Rte 13) is fine.........but secondary roads are iceskating rinks.

I talked to my SIL in Dover this morning.....the storm we got socked with the day after Christmas missed them completely.......it's payback time for them up there. She lives in a cul-de-sac and said there was more than a foot on top of her car.

I agree today is a stew kind of day, but instead we decided on a cheese fondue. something different, we haven't had it in a while. I wouldn't have thought about it except the box with the fondue pot nearly hit the floor from the vibrations of the dryer....but I caught it just in the nick of time!
