Friday, June 21, 2005 | Slip 18

Posted on 01/21/2005 7:11:38 AM PST by Slip18

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....

>

Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs as always. Subbie is also here for THREE days. So you better be nice, otherwise you get coal on your face. I’m just letting all the new students know that we behave as if we were ladies and gentlemen in here. Those two words “as if” can get you an A if you make the subbie laugh.

TUCKER
Verb

This word is pronounced “tuk er”

Etymology: I don’t know.

Verb:

1) Exhaust, fatigue.

I know what naughty words rhyme with this one, so be careful!

"thought it was a treat."

One evening last week, I was doing the ritual of passing out treats at about 6:00pm. Husky girl took hers over to a rug in the living room, then came back and tried to sniff at Kitty boy's treats (but he ate them too fast). I handed her one of his treats, and she didn't even smell it before she put it into her mouth, not even thinking about it-but the minute she bit down on the little tuna flavored morsel, she was spitting it out like she thought I'd tried to poison her-she hasn't shown any interest in any treats but her own since.

Thanks, I heard about this on the bus this morning. By the way, Howard lives in Kanata, which is basically part of Ottawa.

It is a neat toy, and it kept them both amused for a long time while I cooked supper-well worth a few bucks.

Damnit-it was such a nice day today-it got up to 71 and was partly cloudy, but there is a norther blowing in tomorrow afternoon to bring wind and temperatures back down into the 20's for the rest of the weekend.

The problem with that is they would both make money! Maybe they could have their own television trash story a la Trump's show.

Although, Trump did vote for Bush even though he's a dem.

I know the feeling. I still have unopened boxes from my move. I have no idea what's in them because the 'bot packed them for a fee.

I found an old CD of mine last week. It had my most favorite aria on it sung by Maria Calas (Ari Onassis' ex-GF before Jackie Kennedy). It was from "Philadelphia Story."

I get so moved by that song, tears come to my eyes. It just gives Cyber a headache. LOL!

HAH!! What a scream!

I never saw that movie. What's the aria, Casta Diva from Bellini's opera Norma or something like that?

Is it(the lighted toy) something that could easily be cracked if it fell off a counter?

Docker has hickory flavored rawhide sticks that we give him after he has eaten something soft to clean his teeth. He's 13 but his teeth are beautiful according to the vet. Simba loves those, but I have to hold onto the stick for him to eat it. Simba can chomp on something like you couldn't believe.

Simba doesn't like the tuna flavor treats either. He doesn't like the moist ones. He only likes hard treats.

Simba eats out from the middle of his bowl. Even if the bowl is full of kibble all around except the middle, he howls like a banchee. We have to "fluff" his food about three or four times a day. He wants everything just so.

Cyber took two days off this week. He couldn't believe how much Simba meows. It's not a mew; it's a MEOOOOWWWWW!
