What's with the Stars tonight?
Vanity | Jan 12th, 2005

Okay: Don't mean to sound like Ms Tinfoil, but I was just outside and tonight, here in San Diego the sky is clear as a bell and the stars are as bright as crystals but they look exceptionally low in the sky, almost like a ceiling that has shrunk.

Anybody notice the same thing?

Speaking of stars,...Anybody ever see a real sweet little movie called "Local Hero" with Peter Riegert and Burt Lancaster? Takes place in a small town in Scotland. Nice. Take a look sometime.

Well it's usually clear but I am in my right mind and noticed the sky truly does look different.

Are you sure you're not still inside, staring at the chandelier?

Probably the earthquake-tsunami earth axis wobble is making the stars look lower in the sky--which is, of course, Bush's fault. Tomorrow night, the stars will be way high in the sky if my theory proves out.

Starry, starry night
Paint your palette blue and gray
Look out on a summer's day
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul
Shadows on the hills
Sketch the trees and daffodils
Catch the breeze and winter chills
In colors on the snowy linen land

Now I understand
What you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen, they did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen now

Starry, starry night
Flaming flowers that brightly blaze
Swirling clouds in violet haze
Reflect in Missyme's eyes of china blue
Colors changing hue
Morning fields of amber grain
Weathered faces lined in pain
Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand

Now I understand
What you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen, they did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen now

For they could not love you
But still your love was true
And when your hope was left inside
On that starry, starry night
You took your life
As lovers often do

But I could have told you, Missyme
This world was never meant for one as beautiful as you

This is scary! A few years ago here on FR we had someone named ClassyGreenEyedBlond start a thread about how she stared at the sun and was seeing things.

Now granted she turned out to be a he, a troll, and got zotted for good, but that sun thread was a hoot!

I wonder where this one is going?
OH, and I just looked outside, yes, it's dark. <|:-)~~

At about 6 p.m. the moon was about to set and the Big Dipper was low in the horizon. It did give the optical illusion of being a shallow sky.

It's foggy where I am. Almost makes you think somebody's trying to hide something.

I just stepped out to see, it looks normal to me. If you want to see a lot of stars up close go up in the mountains and look in the sky.
