Are all Conservative Women Religious Fanatics (Vanity warning)??
1/10/05 | Myself

Okay. Flame if you want. This is what you'd probably call a vanity. Yes, I am a new member, but I've lurked here for years. And no, I'm not from DU!!! However, I am asking a serious opinion here, not trying to start a flame war. I am an agnostic. But I am a conservative. I am anti-abortion, think gay marriage is wrong, I hate high taxes, and think the Dept. of Education is a bunch of shiznit.

But I can't meet a woman like me. All the girls in my age group (I'm 20) are either flaming liberals, or, if they are conservative, they're Jesus freaks. I don't mean to offend anyone but that's the best description I can come up with. Does a non-religious, or "libertarian" type, young, conservative, SINGLE female exist, or not?

I saw a dating service advertized on foxnews.com a few weeks ago that was specifically targeted at conservatives. I think it was called rightmatch.com, but don't quote me on that.

Conservative women aren't necessarily fanatics. Just G-d-fearing.

I think that it is insulting to call women who are serious about their faith, fanatics.

Well, you're in a difficult position. A lot of young women are liberal, largely because they want the "freedom" to imitate "Sex in the City" and don't want the consequences. They don't realize how seriously they are damaging their present lives, and their future prospects for a happy marriage.

Part of the difficulty is that many women become more conservative as they get older, but that doesn't help you any for right now.

Some of it is finding out where girls who share your points of view go. I recall seeing a lot of young people, men and women, working on the Republican campaigns this past election season.

You don't mention if you're in college, but some majors are going to have more conservative women than others. (I would imagine engineering, business, ass't sciences would tend to have more conservative women.)

Some of it also depends on how you treat the women you encounter. If you treat them like ladies, then they will react accordingly. Good luck!

Yep, no point. So let me leave you with a few facts:

1 - 43% of all American women will have an abortion before they are 45 years old.

2 - Having an abortion increases the risk of breast cancer by 50%, even more if the mother is under 18 or has a family history of breast cancer. Women who have an abortion increase their risk of other cancers as well.

3 - Abortion is ranked number nine on "The Holmes Personal Stress Scale," behind forcible rape, suicide of a spouse, divorce, sexual abuse, or death of a parent.

4 - Women suffer the trauma of abortion, and their unborn babies are killed over one million times every year.

All of this happens because degenerates think its perfectly fine to have sex with women while having no intention of raising their children.

I agree with non christian conservative. I don't think I could ever date someone who lectured me whenever I watched The Big Lebowski. Hopefully, she will be laughing so hard it hurts just like me. That's what I call a keeper.

Also anyone who listens to Christian "Rock" is automatically out. Rock and Christianity are polar opposites and should never be joined. Not saying God doesn't like to rock. Otherwise Keith Richards would have long been dead.

Because I do think marriage is between a man and a woman. Again, just because I'm not Christian doesn't mean I have no morals.

No doubt. I was just curious how you would develop such a moral stance in the absence of any absolute moral authority (i.e., God). In my experience, most non-theists have a fairly utilitarian/libertarian morality, wherein only actions that do measurable harm to others are perceived as wrong... but most people in that group would never regard consensual same-sex relationships as meeting that criteria.

At your age, people tend to be more extreme in both their ideologies and in their expressions of same.

Could you define "Jesus freak" for me? Could your perception of such a "freak" be a function of the extremism of your age bracket?

Not around here (SF area). It is either ultra liberal, or else the Jesus Freaks type conservative/traditional. It's a big country; try travelling around a bit.

I'd jump in and add something.
Though the women and Viking Kittens seem to be having so much fun teasing and toying with their "prey".

I think agnosticism is an age related illness. In a few years one way or the other, you'll get over it.

They exist..at your age, your best bet is to find a good-looking intelligent lib, then wait for her to start earning a living. I was a lib in college, then got better when I entered corporate America.

Just ask Conspiracy Guy...
