Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

though I know I complain more here than I should, a lot of the things I drag in here are things I would have talked over with her in the past. It's a huge help for me.I, for one, am honored that you think us suitable to stand in for her. ;o)

The realtor can also give you some direction about what NEEDS to be done and what can be left undone. Might save you some time and effort, or at least direct your efforts to those things that are more crucial. Don't worry about it being close to perfect before the realtor sees it. Believe me, they've seen it ALL!

I'm not striving for close to perfect.
But clean would be good. Still need to straighten out closets and cabinets.
And as far as what NEEDS to be done...ain't no more I can afford to do, so I have to hope they don't think that way. If I could, I'd replace the linoleum in the kitchen, but I really can't! Too bad...it's in avocado shades! Truly hideous.
But hopefully people will see past that - it's a darling little house that just needs some work, and someone with even a smidge of handiness could do it. I ain't got a smidge!

On the bright side, I can remember some of the places (more expensive, even!) that I looked at when I was looking for a house. Some of them were truly apalling. There aren't many nice little houses in this price range that only need cosmetic work. So it has that going for it, for sure.

You know, it's these kind of jokes that outsiders just wouldn't get. :-D
Same thing applies to the Great Lembas Controversy and the ElfBash! Wars.

I KNOW there are plenty of folks who are looking to get into a starter home and are more than willing to put some sweat equity into it. You've posted a picture of it before, and it is a very cute house. I don't think you'll have any trouble selling it, and doing it quickly.

E-mailing the lady I had in mind right now. Eek!
Form asks me to describe the house "in my own words". Gah...not sure what to put there. Guess I'll make it really brief and then can give her more when she calls.

Whoo-hoo! You're a step closer to your goal!
Just finished compiling a list of the articles our little plagiariser used... at four, we're going to see the professor.
