The Hobbit Hole XVIII - Though we pass them by today...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 12/20/2004 9:01:36 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I am never forget the day I first meet the great Lobachevsky.
In one word he told me secret of success in mathematics: Plagiarize!

Plagiarize,
Let no one else's work evade your eyes,
Remember why the good Lord made your eyes,
So don't shade your eyes,
But plagiarize, plagiarize, plagiarize...
Only be sure always to call it please "research".

From the poem Lobachevsky, by Tom Lehrer

That was the best steak and lobster I have ~ever~ had!! To just get away from the stress of the wedding and pig out with reckless abandon... mmmmmm! The bourbon and cokes helped too.

Harbor Inn.

It was just the mood of the moment. We come sauntering in during the middle of the afternoon, and she hands us lunch menus. We said... no no no... we want a bourbon, and we want a big steak. And lobster. and a bucket of clams. And whatever else you've got.

It was the decadence of it that was great.

OK west coasters, I'm bailing out. The Nyquil has finally taken hold.

Sleep well...I know I will. *grin*

Yeah, see, we are taught the difference between plagiarizing and sourcing....

Still mad. And hungry. I had a tiny little salad with chicken for dinner. It was good, but not enough, so I just made some fried pork nuggets. Yum.
