Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

We're thinking we'll drive out. The reasons for us to drive are that we are planning on heading to Oklahoma afterwards to trail ride with Becky from the saddle club. We're planning on taking my truck, if it's still runnin' good. If you wanted to make that trip with us, you'd have to borrow the Mercedez, or whatever new rig dad gets. I was assuming you wouldn't want to extend your trip by that much to go to OK... but we'd be happy to take your guns if you want to ~not~ have to check them on the plane.
If my truck chokes between now and then and we don't trust it, we'd fly and rent a car I guess.

Y'know, when I was little, my mamma would take potted meat and do some wonderful stuff to it. Cream cheese and sweet pickle relish, among other things.
Ah, a good memory!
To: HairOfTheDog
I'm considering driving too... would take my car, just to take some extra time off if nothing else. Yes, checking a bunch of guns would be a hassle, but its doable.
We could tag-team on the way there, maybe?
Still thinkin' on it.

It's all what you grow up with, I guess... my family tended toward "pieces of meat and vegetables that are distinguishable from each other", so that's what I see as a meal.
I'm just kind of amazed my family ate as many flavorful things as we did, by rights we should have all inherited bland taste buds like my grandparents.

'Course last year at Entmoot we had The Quest for the Skivvies of Gondor. Maybe that's why we don't see ksen anymore...

Well, sure if you want to drive also, that would be great! It would also add some safety in case of car trouble. We were thinking of stopping through CO to caravan with Jen too.
