The Hobbit Hole XVIII - Though we pass them by today...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 12/20/2004 9:01:36 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Wow, you're fast! So is the office all done?

Not just manga library... I have tons and tons of anime, too.

The office is not done. I'm thinking of seeing if a pizza painting party tomorrow would be a sufficient bribe. I have everything I need for homemade pizza except cheese...and I could make brownies, too.

Pizza AND painting, that is. Not painting pizza.

I wasn't sure what the appeal of painted pizza would be... go for it! Bribe 'em with cheap things an dif that doesn't work, guilt them into it.

I mentioned the HH a bunch - and talked up the troop support projects.

I really, really, really wanted to get an Evenstar pendant to wear with my dress as my little Hobbit Hole badge. But they're too expensive. :(

Maybe in four years!

Erm... I don't think the security guys would have appreciated that. They were skulking about *everywhere*.

Scuttlebut was that a couple of trolls were planning on crashing the party. If they did, they were quietly taken care of and no one was the wiser. But I have a feeling they didn't get past security. :) DC Chapter did great planning it all.

Another one interviewed. Now the fun part. Who, if anyone, gets a second interview, and likely a job offer.

Yeah, they had those neat earplugs with the telephone cord coil tucked behind their ears. They were all handsome and dressed in dark suits.

We must have another moot between now and then, mustn't we?

Maybe even an animoot...what with no dogs, I'm more flexible now. The cats don't need much in the way of babysitting...

Of course...I also get the feeling that - like buying a house - selling a house takes at least twice as long as you think it should. I'm amazed at how much...stuff...I've accumulated, and how many little things really need to get done. I need to just decide what things I MUST have and ditch the rest, but emotionally, that's hard. I'm a hoarder, I'm afraid. At times, at least.
