Upon the hearth the fire is red, |

Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |

If I lose one more, we don't have a quorum...
Mornin' Corin - ya want me to call ya, so ya don't have a quorum?
Did you hear about the recruiter that got mobbed at Seattle Central Community College yesterday?
It was posted here. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1325109/posts?page=101,5
Any way these guys will get prosecuted?
What they did violates

TITLE 18
PART I
CHAPTER 115
Good morning!
It's a bit chilly here, in the thirties...but it got up to near 70 yesterday and supposed to do the same today!
Coldl front's coming through tomorrow though...gonna be in the thirties again when i go to pick up My Precious! Argh!
Mine, mine! The Precious is mine. BWAHAHAHAHAHA
Oh, be careful....
It's fairly warm this morning. Not sure the exact temperature, but I wasn't cold getting out of bed. I'd complain about not having much of a winter but this is good, I like being warm-ish.
If that's all it takes.... I'll 'not show' too.
Good morning everyone... I am afraid I was completely out of touch yesterday. Watched much of the inaugural events, but was busy on work stuff. So did I miss anything?
mmmmmmmmmmmm... kewl flashlite...
They'll throw a parade for them and put up statues in their likeness.
That's McDermott's district...I kid you not, and I'm not exaggerating one bit: These people would rather live under Osama bin Laden's rule than live in the United States governed by a conservative, particularly with Bush as president. They have one goal and that is the absolute destruction of the United States as we know it, replacing it with an eco-pacifist free love commune.
These wack jobs are the overwhelming majority in Seattle. They'll be wildly celebrated within the city limits.
In the Soviet of Seattle? Not hardly.
bastiges... these commie pinko pukes won't get prosecuted in the People's Republic of Washington...
Plus, where you are there's snow available if and when you want it, right? Just a car ride away?
I wasn't around much either, Tuesday and Thursday being my new busy days. At least today I get to come home early and get to work on my pile of homework. Last night all I managed to do was glance at one textbook and read one article. Other than that I sat and vegged out with movies.
Yes, exactly. Unfortunately either there's no one to go with, or no time to do it. My galpals and I are going to have to get up there at some point.
Well...hopefully problem one will be solved before next winter...
:-)
Yup! That's the real reason I'm making you move, so I'll have someone to do things with.
And so that I can spend any money I save on rent, on anime and books. Maybe I won't ship you any more anime as an incentive to get moving...
I need to send back Fruits Basket! And the manga, too, for that matter.
Kewl...I'll have a manga library at my disposal, won't I?
This weekend hopefully I'll get a LOT of cleaning done. I'm basically down to cleaning. Last weekend was the weekend I took stuff to the dump and all. I still have one more load for the dump...and it's a doozy. Carpets that were in the basement and a bunch of random trash. I dunno WHAT that'll cost me, so I'm wondering if I hafta wait until next paycheck, which isn't for two weeks. Ack!
I guess I can still start the selling process with that...I can always tell people I'm clearing it out ASAP. And the basement is all but spotless otherwise - which is amazing!
I'm also maybe selling my fiddle, which would give me cash for that...Margaret's violin building teacher wants to buy it and tinker with it. It isn't worth much, but it'd pay for small stuff. Kewl...
Gave myself a couple extra hours sleep and came in to work late. I'm sure there'll be an after-action thread or two where we'll all post our stories and pictures so I'll just summarize here. Don't have our pics yet - they're on the camera and Big'ol is swamped at work today.
*yawn*
Got to wear my rrrrrrred dress with nails and shoes to match. Got to meet lots of 'famous' freepers - screen names you see all the time for years and years. There were lots of new people, too, and many folks who came because of the radio advertisements that aired in the DC area.
There were a few members of the Iraqi exile group there and they spoke about how grateful they are now that they can return to their country and help rebuild it now that Saddam is gone. Two of them are even running for office in the upcoming elections! There were a couple of authors in attendance - Richard Poe who wrote "Hillary's Secret War" and Jerry Corsi who co-authored "Unfit for Command."
Sauropod put together a *great* video presentation on Freepers, Freeperdom, and a retrospective of the last four years. It really highlighted 'our' accomplishments. (D.C. Chapter, really) Everyone was laughing and cheering and toasting. T'was excellent.
Gov. Huckabee rocked out. The band is great and they played awesome tunes once again. Hope they enjoyed us as much as we enjoyed them.
To top it all off we had a quiet visit later in the evening by a certain kick-butt Mr. C. Norris of Texas... he was even wearing a Texas Rangers lapel pin. Vey cool.
The whole evening was a salute to our armed forces. Big'ol wore his dress uniform and got his ear talked off by old artillerymen. (Joke: What's an artilleryman's favorite word? A: WHAT?) We ran into other Army folks and reaffirmed what a very small world it is in the service - we all had common acquaintences, it seemed.
It was a very different event than last time. It was a little classier this time. 2000 was an exercise in releasing raw emotion - celebration that Clinton was gone, and releif the Bush/Gore election tension was finally resolved. The time there was a series of solemn toasts to our servicemen and leaders. There were small awards to Freepers who made a difference. It was all very, very well done!
It was a GREAT party!
Fabulous! Hurry up with those pictures!
