Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Ditto.
I'll make up something heroic, or glamourous.

Yep...keeled over on the crapper. No kidding.
I bet I've been involved in more codes where that happened than any other way. It's why they give softeners to heart patients.
Now mind you, this is HEART PATIENTS, including Elvis, I'm talking about. A normal reasonably healthy person, when they faint, will release the pressure on the nerve and their heart will immediately bump back up to normal.

Wow, that's cool! If I ever need to come up with a weird medical condition I'll definitely ask you.
I thought Elvis died of a drug overdose... huh... must have just gotten confused with all the other singers who have died of such...

If I go that way, please ecurbh, don't tell anyone. How's that joke go again?
When I die, I want to go peaceful, in my sleep, like Ramius.
Not screaming like the passengers in his car...

Drugs did a lot to put Elvis in the state he was in when he died. Well, drugs and nanner sammiches...

Ah, I see. So since my heart's good and I don't do drugs I'm in no danger...
Hmm... I wonder if it would be possible to somehow exacerbate that condition in someone, causing death...

Hmm... I wonder if it would be possible to somehow exacerbate that condition in someone, causing death... You've been awfully curious about ways to do someone in over the past couple of days.
Have you been reading Patricia Cornwell again?

Sounds silly, but she feels better when she does. Not silly at all. Having her teeth in and being dressed is a major part of keeping her feeling she's part of things. That will probably keep her healthier.

Nah, I don't like Patricia Cornwell. I'm just wondering why there aren't more whodunits for grown-ups and relieving my childhood memories of hours spent trying to figure out the trick before the detective revealed it all.. I still do that.
And it sort of seems to me that a mystery, where you don't have to have any kind of meaning, would be an easier thing to write than science fiction. Murderers' motivations are so easy... it's heroes I don't always understand.

Well, we're keeping an eye on this curiosity of yours...
To: Corin Stormhands
Evening Corin - glad to hear, the attic trips were 'uneventful'. That closet tree idea sure sounds better each year, eh?
