That's a possibility. I had been trying very hard this weekend not to worry about classes but that's kind of hard.
Sigh. Of course the backups fail miserably on a day when, if any of the others show up, it'll be at 2 or whenever they pour themselves out of bed. I think I fixed it, though.
Mornin'
Feelin' much better, but not too motivated. It's kinda that feeling of "I've wasted so much time now, why bother."
But we are gonna get the Christmas stuff in the attic, and I'm gonna balance the checkbook and pay bills...gee...wonder why that doesn't motivate me?
Nana's better enough to have the "All Old People, All the Time" channel blaring in the living room. I need headphones.
I am trying to get my old computer room fixed up. Since the drawer fell of the computer table, it's kinda turned into a "catch all" room. But we have books out in the shop that are going to have to come out when we bring bring My Precious home...
Oh, Lord...my neighbor said she heard on the NEWS that our water is going to be off for 2 DAYS!
Wonderful wonderful! Lawrence Welk on today?
Good thing you've got all the water stored under the dresser!
Sounds like Nana's the one who needs headphones...
No, it's one of those "drama" days. Overacting and melodramatic music.
We've seriesly been looking for an option to put a speaker in her chair.
Ha!! You are RIGHT! I forgot about it! I have 4 2L bottles in there. I'm sure it's potable, but we just bought 16 gallons last weekend at the water store, they sell filtered water for 26 cents a gallon...remember our water here is awful...kept getting warnings in the mail about how it didn't pass inspection and was that icky brown color? We've been buying filtered water for a long time now at Walmart for 58 cents a gallon, but I found this water filtering store and the got into a conversation with the owner...he's a conservative and so we decided to save our jugs and just buy it in bulk from him.
We can use the 2L bottled water for flushing the toilet, I guess...at least until Steve can hook the well back up. (We disconnect our sandpoint waterwell in the winter so the well assembly won't freeze.)
Is it possible for you to pick up, cheaply, one of those little tv-vcr combos and put it in her room? Would that help?
I don't think I'd want to spend my days locked up in the bedroom with a little TV. The interaction of being down in the house with everyone is important. As long as she can get up, she should.
The TV volume thing is a funny problem, from a distance. I remember it well when staying with my Grandma. - Or my friend Lisa for that matter... She's deafer than a stump.
Ruthy! We got your precious present! It's great! Will take a picture later when the house is cleaned up of all this organization mess and we can lay it on the couch.
Mmm, yes, I'm probably extrapolating from my grandmother who honestly would rather watch tv than be part of things...
I have a pair of these for when Hair is watching something I don't wanna, or when I'm up late at night. Very nice headphones at an affordable price (by far the best available for the price, IMO). They have terrific sound quality, are very comfortable (even when I'm wearing glasses), and pretty good sound isolation.
Sennheiser HD 202 Closed Headphones
Those are pretty cool looking! I prefer earbuds, they have decent sound and a low profile and unlike headphones, don't make my ears go numb after a couple hours.
Of course, the thing about headphones is they make you look very strange, singing along to music only you can hear.
That's the key. She has her own tv and vcr in her room. But she doesn't have a decent chair up there, and not really any room for it.
She needs to get out and come down stairs. If for no other reason that it gives us more ammunition for insisting she get dressed and put her teeth in.
Sounds silly, but she feels better when she does.
Hmmmm...those look good. I may invest in a pair (once I get the bills paid here).
We've needed a pair to use with the piano as well.
That would have been a great thing when my sibs and I took piano... only we have a real piano so it wouldn't exactly work. Hmmm...
It's really odd, looking back, at how many of my mother's plans to teach us interesting skills failed miserably. Dance, gymnastics, piano, art lessons, sewing lessons... guess I'm lucky that I learned to read and cook. Oh, yeah, and the riding lessons were ok if we'd had them for more than two months.
I know I feel better when I do.
Seriously, It isn't silly at all.
