Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

They have great insulation, but it's 15 out there and I don't use the heat unless I'm afraid the pipes will burst. Me being cold is one thing, pipes exploding is something else.
I figure I can risk it getting down under 50 in here before the pipes are at risk because the downstairs neighbors heat their place and the pipes are kept warm through circulation.

Y'all weren't very chatsy yesterday; it didn't take me long to catch up at all! I'm going to bed now, though. Clare and I just got home from a Girl Scout overnight at the YMCA. I didn't sleep all night, so I'm taking some Advil and crashing! See y'all later this afternoon! ;o)

Ok... have got to cure my insomnia. It's all very well not to fall asleep until 2 on weekends, when I can sleep in and take naps if need be, but lying awake at 2, with Monday staring in the face... at least it's a short day today.
Tomorrow classes begin.

Could be stress. Not that you're stressed now but as soon as the semester gets underway...

Oh, well, thanks...
Just kidding. In part it's because I always spend Friday nights sitting at my computer watching movies/anime until 2 or so, and then sleep until 10 the next morning. But part of the problem is definitely insomia. Can that be hereditary? My mom's always had major insomnia.

The only reason I mention it is because I always get stressed right before a class starts - 'cuz I'm a neurotic type-A perfectionist - and lose sleep.
I find afternoon/evening exercise helpful. Gets me all worn out so that I can't help but sleep.

HELLO!!!!
Steve has today off for MLK, but the boys don't...so he went to his office to work on his school so we could get school done.
Nice fox, g'nad! Looks like it's in Rigor in the picture! Kinda...stiff. LOL
We have no water pressure...I thought at first "Oh, CRAP...our pipes!" but my neighbor called and asked "Do you have any water?" so I assume it's something with the city. Of course, you can't CALL for info because everyone has the day off!
