The Hobbit Hole XVIII - Though we pass them by today...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

That's a really relevant issue in many communities and we're starting to get a handle on constructed wetlands as alternatives to static detention and/or retention basins.

Studies like his will help futher our understanding of how these wetlands systems can work or how they don't.

Either answer is acceptable as it is increasing our knowledge of how the systems operate.

Exactly. I thought for a long time that he had to prove a theory with his thesis...when actually he just has to prove it does one thing or the other.

It's all very confusing to me and Steve isn't exactly gabby...Did I you about the time he told me that he had to take his GRE to get accepted into the program and then didn't say another word about it? Then one day he came in and said he'd been accepted into the program and I didn't even know he'd taken his GRE!

I gotta go. Steve's class is over at 10pm, it's 9:35pm and I want to spiff up around here before he gets home. And take a hot soak.

Expect me when you see me!

Night all!

I'm hopeful the private sector will appreciate Steve and his conservative leanings! :-)

I can think of a company that would appreciate such talented persons. :-)

Well, I'm sort of out of the action now that I've moved from state to municipal government. I'm still caught behind leftist lines, where they all think it's a fine thing that Gregoire stole the election because they were convinced that Rossi, Republican that he is, was going to ruin the environment. That's a bit odd since they all look out their windows at the Port of Tacoma, which makes Saruman look like a piker. But they explain that away in that it's all blue collar union work. I guess a little inconsistency doesn't matter to the left.

But I'm sort of on the sidelines in the big show going on here now. I can see the state government closing ranks around their candidate Gregoire. It's pretty much a lefty mafia -- going to be hard to break, but it's sure worth it to see their criminality and hypocrisy paraded around for everyone to see. Could do some good in the future.

Hmm, I think they were in the northern area closer to TN. I will have to check out a map.

Nathaniel Anderson came to Oglethorpe from VA. From there to Greene county. Seems I remember that Oglethorpe and Greene were next to each other.

I was stationed in GA for a bit (4 years, ending 4 years ago). It was especially good for me to be stationed there because genealogy is my hobby, and I have a lot of family history in Newberry, SC, which is just under an hour's drive from Fort Gordon.
