Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

     | Upon the hearth the fire is red,Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
 Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!
 |
      | Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!
 |
Home is behind, the world ahead,And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
Well wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!
 |

OK, that was totally accidental. Quite honest.

Way to go, Ruthy! And no need to apologize...this is US, remember? ;-)

    Like we're believing that.

If you wait to Durin's Day to leave, I'll probably rescind my offer of housing.

    Refresh my memory...when is Durin's Day? Mid-summer?

    (((Rosie)))

I'm feeling a bit punch-drunk is all.

Didn't get out of there until almost 8 o'clock tonight. And you better believe I'm already planning on using up my vacation time quick so I can get something else!

I'm burning out fast at this place.

Really, this is all gonna hinge on the sale of the house. If someone is right away interested, we could be talking a vey short time, though I suppose it might mean I could live at the house for a few months and save up some cash. If the house doesn't sell for a long time...well...I just hope that doesn't happen.

October 30th, that's a pretty long time from now.

To: osagebowman
Ooh...yeah, I sure HOPE it doesn't take that long! Gosh!

Like that terminator babe in that last movie... come to think of it... there's a certain resemblance... :-) LOL! Maybe our big toes look alike, but that's about it. *grinning*
Otherwise, I'd be making the big bucks out in Hollyweird...tormenting the liberals for kicks.

Nite folks. Don't be surprised if I drop back in after a few hours. If I wake up coughing I'll likely need to sit up a spell...

Yep...that's what his thesis is about...constructed wetlands. Tulsa has such terrible drainage problems...flooding and such that they construct wetlands to control it. I've mentioned the "soccer fields" that are down in the bottom of usually dry areas that will fill completely up with a heavy rain. Well, every neighborhood project has to have a drainage plan...some are dry playgrounds or soccer fields...some are gorgeous ponds. Steve's thesis is showing the viability (or perhaps failure) of one particular wetland, if I understand it correctly. His thesis is actually just a part of the entire study.

Didn't we have a discussion some time back about the work my company does along these lines?

The environmental science bidness is in great need of more thoughtful conservatives to join the ranks.
