Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

This is the one I'm reading now. ~snicker~
I've got a soft spot for Regency era romances.

Um, yeah, I don't really "do" romances, but I've been doing genre research in thriller type novels lately. Such easy reading! It's like a movie or something, no deep plots or little morals.
Of course, my "plane book" is hard science fiction...

Saw some furniture in the Pottery Barn catalog that was a color called "Espresso". It was shiny, too.

Hey there... was just getting ready to post, actually.
You're right about eBay, it really has become a buyer's market. So many people sell so much of everything, that you only get a good price if you have something very unusual or very hot. Unfortunately, I don't follow any other auction sites! So, I'm afraid I don't have any suggestion on where else you could sell your stuff.

God Bless Heath. It's hard enough for us grown-ups to lose our Moms, even though we're old enough to 'understand'.

Exactly. Seems like a really easy genre to write, though maybe getting published is harder. Science fiction tends to be written at a slightly higher level, and they demand more from you as far as character development. Thrillers can use stereotypes and "place holder" characters, and it's accepted that male and female lead feel attracted to one another without an actual reason.

Now THERE is one novel I'd have to pass up. Can't imagine why, but there's something about it that just rubs me the wrong way. ~snicker~

Next Friday (not tomorrow) will be Erin's last day at her school. Is she excited? Can you make some sort of 'treat' for her to share with the class, cupcakes, cookies, etc?
