Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I just got the first batch of Hobbit Hole "utility knives" back from engraving. It looks like we'll have a total of 17 to give out. I also have a bunch of HH pocket knives engraved, so I can start msiling them soon.
We put the Hobbit Hole url on the rear of the blade so there can be room for a name in front, if needed. The lettering is a light gray, making it "subdued", always a good idea for a tactical "utility knife". The epoxy is actually burned in to the marks in the steel.

It'll hinge on the house deal. I can't see putting it on the market for a coupla months, and then closing can take up to several months. And it could be on the market for awhile...
I think I might get lucky (or blessed, as a friend gently corrected me today), because it IS an inexpensive little place and a good starter home. There aren't many of those around that aren't in horrible condition.

Why don't you think it can go on the market right away? Needs fixing-up?

I'd want to get a lot of crap outta here first and get it completely spic'n'span. And at least finish the office. I won't bother trying to rip down paper elsewhere, I don't think. But the office needs to be painted.

Uhh... maybe try a blow-dryer instead of a suck-dryer? Just a thought, is all I'm sayin'... :-) Great tip! Thanks!
To: JenB
I'm going to aim for the end of February to start that process. And start de-crapping this weekend. I'll keep everyone posted!

Anyone know where there is a good auction site for Star Wars collectors (besides eBay)? As part of my effort to let go of the past myself, I am liquidating my collection.
*sniff* waaaah.
And I dont like the way bidders get chintzy on eBay. Not sure if they are different on other auction places, but I am noticing that most of those who are buying are those only interested in the 'new' Lucas sh**Imean "stuff."
I have lots of Han Solo stuff!!....

Thanks for all of the happy birthday wishes everyone! I love you guys and couldn't imagine my life without you.

I treated myself and took a trip to the used bookstore after work. Bought a couple cheesy romance novels just because I could get away with it today. *grin*
Rosie - you can count on me to keep you encouraged, chica. And I'll be praying for you too!

Have you tried googling up Star Wars fan sites and checking to see if they have free classifieds?
There is a market for the stuff, you just have to take the supply to the demand. :-D

The online sites are MANY! its difficult to weed through some of them...I am easy to distract it would seem. No Jedi Knight would I make! I will have to bug Fedora again...he recommended one site, but I have since lost that info.

Has Bear been on lately?
Oh, here's this site if y'all like SW parodies. This guy's in Scotland and I think he has moved on to other things, but I love his comic strip.
