Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I haveen't read the Harry Potter books yet, though I saw the first movie in A&E (I think it was on A&E) Don't go by the movie...the story itself is far more interesting.
JenB - am NOT a fangirl! LOL I just...wonder about that character, s'all...*mumble mumble*
Pippin - Harry a cross between Pippin and Frodo! LOL I like that. Always did think those two were diametric opposites of each other, but Harry makes a nice model of the two integrated.

Thank you, one and all! I am very happy and excited. Hubby wants to go with the Seton curriculum, which I have agreed to, but last night he was lecturing that he didnt want us 'running around, sleeping late' and to stay in the house as much as possible because he didnt want us to get caught by the law.
*sigh*
Now ANOTHER hurdle to cross....

My poor, sweet Mom was really disturbed by the "hon" treatment her first visit out here. We were shopping for clothes and the clerk offered to open a dressing room "for ya, hon." Mom leaned over to me in said in her conspiratorial voice, "Does that woman know she doesn't know me?" I chuckled. But I still don't care much for it myself either. I like a good old-fashioned "Ma'am" or "Miss" between strangers.

LOL!
Really I very rarely say "hon" and I hardly hear anyone else saying it unless I go to South Baltimore, I guess it's just a "Bal'mer" thing. :o)

Indeed... Prayers for the fallen and the injured there.
To: Pippin
I've heard quite a bit of it in Harford and Cecil counties. Cecil, especially, is full of that horrid, nasal "yeeeee'ah."

That's right...he's the son of a friend of Celeste's (my best friend). The knife is stunning! 2J, I don't need you to write the letter, I just need a more specific description of how we got his name. Right now, we're a friend of a friend of your best friend. How can we describe that coherently?

If he hasn't already gotten something, how about one of those funky scarves the girls like. They're either made with the fun fur yarn, or the yarn with funky chunky bits of yarn woven in to them. Some are made of wool, and some are very silky. Nice, and not too expensive; prolly less than $20.
Clare saw one of the fun fur type scarves at A. C. Moore craft store, and it's the kind that is a tube. You could actually pull it over your head and wear it as a hood and neck gaiter combo. It was only $6! We call it a 'thneed', cause "it's a fine something that everyone needs." ;o)
