My poor, sweet Mom was really disturbed by the "hon" treatment her first visit out here. We were shopping for clothes and the clerk offered to open a dressing room "for ya, hon." Mom leaned over to me in said in her conspiratorial voice, "Does that woman know she doesn't know me?" I chuckled. But I still don't care much for it myself either. I like a good old-fashioned "Ma'am" or "Miss" between strangers.

LOL!

Really I very rarely say "hon" and I hardly hear anyone else saying it unless I go to South Baltimore, I guess it's just a "Bal'mer" thing. :o)
