The Hobbit Hole XVIII - Though we pass them by today...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

While I rejoice at Andy's survival, and his courage, please pray with me that future shipments go to troops under happier circumstances.

Amen.

They'd be nice "Welcome Home, thanks for killin' all the bastidges" presents...

we're going to see "A Series of Unfortunate Events".

Clare and Joseph went with friends to see that last week. Joseph was the only one who had read any of the books, I think, and he thought it was done pretty well. They both enjoyed it.

Morning Corin - Glad you got the Hobbit and LOTR, many, many hours of reading enjoyment.

Did the ferris wheel get assembled?

Morning OT - There and back again, seems I recall reading that someplace. Ready for some unseasonably warm weather? We are.

Did Miss Kitty get her tuna?

Yes. Miss Kitty got her tuna this morning.

I think Miss Kitty and I need to go on diets.

Goooood morning! Christmas visit with inlaws continues. It's been great. Had dinner with another branch of the family last nite... it is alwasy a big production. They're nice but vey quirky.

We're off to look at real estate today. The inlaws are inclined to move to a condo. We're inclined to have them closer by than South Carolina. :)

Hope you're all well and still stuffed with great food!

I'm so glad his picture made it to Time...

I know you guys believe me, but I've been told so much in my life that I'm a liar...that the things that are reality AREN'T reality (to the point that I doubted my own eyes when I was a child) that when something I say or do is PROVEN to be reality, even though I know it's foolish to be relieved...I still am.

I don't know if that makes sense...I'm pretty sure you can't understand. All I can really say is I'm just so very relieved you guys get to see this young man's picture and know that he is real.

I hardly ate at all yesterday...did you see that I consumed an entire green bean casserole all by myself during our Christmas meal?

Stick a fork in me, sis!

No, Big'ol's brother's wife's family. Veeeeeey quirky. Obsessive compulsive problems sprinkled on top of Italian penchant for drama.

My side's quirks pale in comparison.

I could probably not eat for the next two weeks and still feel full. :(

Fortunately my FIL is a bigger cookie monster than Big'ol so at least I won't have to face leftovers once the fam has gone home. :)

Good morning my FRiend!

My parents got the jedis an XBOX. Something Steve and I said we'd never let them have. But it was such a nice gift that I wanted them to have it...still, Steve didn't...I think we both kinda thought it was like a computer game.

So I set it up during his nap and when he got up, I started the OU-OSU bedlam game on it.

Steve and Matthew played for an hour! LOL!!!!

We don't have too many leftovers either...some sandbackels and some molasses cookies and a half a pumpkin pie.

Steve sat down at the table with a piece of pie and a little piece of pie. It was funny. I pretended I was Steve cutting pie and thinking aloud "I'm gonna have a piece of pie...and a little piece of pie!"

I laughed till I couldn't breath.

Yeah - the key to dad accepting the new video game is to get dad playing it. ;~D

I think it will play DVD's too.
