Happy Birthday, Pippin! Glad you got the DVD player. I guess you ARE a Happy Hobbit!
You shore know how to write purty! Seriesly, that is a GREAT letter! I know Andy will be pleased to receive it and the knives that will accompany it.
I just saw that picture. Found the mag Christmas Eve. WHat a fine man our President is.
It started snowing here about 11 am. It's been very light for most of the day; we've got about 2". It's supposed to get heavier later, so I don't know what we'll wake up to in the morning.
It's vey cold here, but no snow.
Evenin' evellybody! :-)
I've decided to watch ROTKEE once more... now that I've so fortuitously got it for Christmas! :-) Watched some more of the features today.
Gots us a precious new couch to watch it on, as well.
Anybody following that massive quake off sumatra? Wow... that's a big one.
mmmmm...new couch....
we needs a new couch...and a new kitchen floor and cabinets and stove...and a tool shed and a greenhouse...and a new deck...
how many days 'til Christmas?
Happy Birthday, Pippin!
I'm just back from a birthday party for another friend! She was turning 21, so we of course took her out for pints. However, she wasn't feeling well, and the bartender decided one of my brothers' ID was fake or sumpin and much of the rest of the group WAS underage and just drinking coffee or cokes...so it was a rather odd sort of 21st birthday bash. ;-) I had a White Russian, which is one of the few mixed drinks I know the name of. Heh...I am NOT a party gal! But my drink was good. Just wish the birthday girl had been having more fun! We'll have to take her out again, I guess. And go to a place where they don't regard wear on a driver's license as a sign that it could potentially be fake...
She really likes LOTR and hasn't seen the ROTK EE yet, so we may do a marathon tomorrow! I'm off one more day...
Wow...nicely done!
Yes... there remain many things on the list here too... :-)
The old couch was particularly sad. It was a couch in name only (CINO). The parts supposed to be soft were hard, and the parts supposed to be firm were soft.
This one is pretty nifty. It's a la-z-boy couch with recliners at either end. It works. :-)
But does it have the Old Man Willow feature?
Or was that a bug?
I always mix those two up...
It's not like the one at the moot... that seemed to just consume hobbitses. Though... I have found it difficult to get out of...
Yeah, but is that really the couch's fault?
;-) Just teasin'...
hehehe... OK... maybe that's part of the problem too. :-)
Or maybe the pint of Guinness.
"It comes in pints??"
Oh, marathon, fun... just as long as you don't drop dead at the end with the word "nike!" on your lips.
I'm taking the sibs to the movies tomorrow. Sister thinks she can get us in free, we're going to see "A Series of Unfortunate Events".
That's our Marine??? Did it actually have his name that I told you??
Oh my stars....
Well, I'm there and back again. The trip back was better than the trip there but I am once again baggageless. Pony service wasn't too great this trip.
No frozen pipes and Kitty seems glad to see me.
Oh...at The House we had about 3 inches of snow...the airport was bone dry.
Yep, that's the one with the name you gave me. I scratched it out from the picture. But that's him.
Thanks, everyone. That was a tough one to write, so I turned to Tolkien, if not for the words, than the motivation.
Boromir, after his own victory celebration, would have stopped by and said, "Sorry about the leg, but it was a grand victory. Let's go out and get drunk."
Then I asked WWFD, What Would Faramir Do? I have no doubt he was writing letters even while getting patched up himself. It's not in the books, but is within his character. And being a student of a wizard wouldn't have made it any easier for him.
The kill-or-be-killed is the easy part of the business. Dealing with the aftermath is tougher. While I rejoice at Andy's survival, and his courage, please pray with me that future shipments go to troops under happier circumstances.
