AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 1423) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | December 13, 2004 | All of Us

Posted on 12/13/2004 4:26:12 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

China, which had been ready to rapidly expand textile exports when the general agreement which governs such trade expired next January 1. The Bush Administration had been ready, in response, to limit the amount of Chinese fabric that would be dumped in this country, that readiness has been curbed by a Chinese announcement of export taxes on textiles. This is seen as a victory for the Bush Administration. (The New York Times actually printed words to the effect of the last sentence and it got by their censor, er, editor.)

The recount in Ohio will begin this week. No matter, however, as Ohio's 20 Electoral Votes will be cast today for George W. Bush, and counted as such on January 3. That hasn't, however, kept the Kerry Campaign (how many different ways can you say "loser"?) from demanding to see the 92,000 ballots in the state for which no vote was recorded for President. Never mind that President won by 119,000 votes, the LOSER wants to "inspect" those ballots anyway.

Afghan President Karzai says that The Evil One is definitely located "in the region," though United States sources admit the trail is cold.

And China will soon host the finals of the country's first "Miss Artificial Beauty" pageant. Partakers in the pageant will have all been recipients of plastic surgery to enhance their looks.

For AMERICA - The Right Way I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I see the Chair has answered your excellent question. It wasn't stupid at all and was an excellent question.

BTW, I just met another freeper at the gym. I didn't ask his screen name but he's an older guy and loves FR too.

I have been saying this exact thing on other threads. I find it inconceivable that the FBI would have missed all of the other nefarious activities that the MSM is saying Kerik involved himself in. Therefore, I have to believe it's all just allegations intended to damage the reputations of three men: Kerik, Guliani, and Bush.

The media is trying for a 3 'fer.

I plead ignorance to knowing exactly what he was pardoned for and whether it was for all crimes he may have committed at any time in the past or was it for specific acts and those things only related to them.

The pardon has to be for specific actions of a specific person, though the actions can be broadly defined (again, I point to Nixon).

I simply cannot see how being the shipping broker for the oil-for-food scandal would fit under his pardon, and even if it did, it could be successfully argued that each new manifest was a new criminal violation and would thus be outside the terms of his pardon as the events are known to have started in February 2001.

Finally caught up on reading ATRW from yesterday and today. (Been slacking at FR I guess) Not going anywhere today, school cancelled, basketball game cancelled, Boy Scout meeting cancelled, and here's why..............

"STRONG WINDS AND HEAVY SNOW OVER WEST AND CENTRAL UPPER MICHIGAN
WILL CONTINUE TODAY BEFORE TAPERING OFF LATE THIS AFTERNOON...

.DEEP LOW PRESSURE EAST OF GEORGIAN BAY IN SOUTHEAST ONTARIO WILL
CONTINUE TO HEAD EAST INTO NEW ENGLAND TODAY. A STRONG NORTH WIND
PUSHING COLDER AIR INTO THE AREA WILL CONTINUE TO ENHANCE THE SNOW
AROUND THE DEPARTING LOW AND PRODUCE WIDESPREAD BLOWING AND DRIFTING
SNOW. LAKE EFFECT SNOW AND WINDS WILL SLOWLY START TO DIMINISH THIS
AFTERNOON WITH SLOWLY IMPROVING CONDITIONS."

Storm started yesterday. Mr. RTW has been out shoveling a few times already. The canal hasn't frozen at all yet so the big flakes look pretty against the water. Son is glad for a snow day. And it's a good day to do some baking and maybe start wrapping some gifts that have to be shipped to California soon. That's the best spin I can put on this kind of day!

Mozie, my hubby mumbled something to me yesterday about the Lions blowing off a 13-0 lead at half-time to lose by 3 to your Pack.

Guennie, your grandbaby is no shrinking violet, that's for sure. Glad things are progressing so well.

kayak, the Marc Rich thing is so infuriating! (That and this new "stuff" about Kerik). I've sort of been out of the breaking news loop for a bit as usually happens in December for some reason. :-)

Hi there. Are you following this Oil-for-Food Scam? It seems the money leads to the previous administration.

Hey darlin'... guess your weather is sneaking up on us also.

Hope you don't lose power, that is always our problem with snow. Our gas furnace does poorly without the electric fans to push air/heat aournd.

Hey there! If we were to lose our power for any length of time, we'd have to evacuate as this house is 100% electric heat. (You should see our winter power bills). We've been very fortunate that for 18 winters in this house, we've never had to evacuate!

Dog - Good afternoon!

Well, looks like the season's first Alberta Clipper is on its way to the East Coast. Right now it is about 50, but winds are kicking up to around 30 MPH, though the sun is out.

Tonight--well, upper teens and low 20s throughout the DC metro area, and much the same for the next couple of days.

So, Al, where's that global warming?

"Kerry's actions are almost making Gore's concession statesmanlike."

As much as I despise John Kerry (and that is a lot) nothing could ever make Al Gore appear even remotely statesmanlike.

Jemian, I think most illegal monies lead to the previous administration. We had 2 ill-mannered HillBillies in the Whitehouse for 8 years and any monies that could be dipped into illegally, I'm sure their dirty, grubby hands were right in the pot. They came into OUR Whitehouse said it was their whitehouse then proceeded to use it as a cash register. They were darn near poor as churchmice, and came out far more wealthy than anyone would expect. They are corrupt to the core, anyone who associates with them comes away dirty.

When we first moved here, there was a freestanding fireplace in the finished basement. We found it to be so utterly inefficient that we decided to just remove the thing. It freed up some valuable floor space and allowed dh to construct another room in the area.

Later.

Military trivia for the day... The guard at the front gate WILL hold your open beer for you while you look for your ID card. The down side is that when you find it, he arrests you. LOL! The stories that the cops I feed tell....

And some people are just so DUMB!

Afternoon everyone!

Jemian, was the textured paint easy to work with? And you were pleased with the results?

This work project of my husband's...some of the delays were because of other people's slowness. It's a collaborative effort...

However, during the Thanksgiving weekend, once our relatives left, my husband could have wrapped it up, or at least made a start in that direction. He didn't....Days passed, and I finally said: "How about the *project*? Don't you want to get going on it? Give yourself a Christmas present and finish it?? HINT, HINT!!

LOL! That seemed to have hit the mark! He even conceded the benefit of that! What would these guys do without us?? Hmmmm??

Dolly, I went out to Copley this a.m....the Church Hall for Wed.'s party is on the n. side of Ridgewood, about a mile to the east of the exit off 77.

The entrance is marked, but the driveway is long...back to the building.
