We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
China, which had been ready to rapidly expand textile exports when the general agreement which governs such trade expired next January 1. The Bush Administration had been ready, in response, to limit the amount of Chinese fabric that would be dumped in this country, that readiness has been curbed by a Chinese announcement of export taxes on textiles. This is seen as a victory for the Bush Administration. (The New York Times actually printed words to the effect of the last sentence and it got by their censor, er, editor.)
The recount in Ohio will begin this week. No matter, however, as Ohio's 20 Electoral Votes will be cast today for George W. Bush, and counted as such on January 3. That hasn't, however, kept the Kerry Campaign (how many different ways can you say "loser"?) from demanding to see the 92,000 ballots in the state for which no vote was recorded for President. Never mind that President won by 119,000 votes, the LOSER wants to "inspect" those ballots anyway.
Afghan President Karzai says that The Evil One is definitely located "in the region," though United States sources admit the trail is cold.
And China will soon host the finals of the country's first "Miss Artificial Beauty" pageant. Partakers in the pageant will have all been recipients of plastic surgery to enhance their looks.
For AMERICA - The Right Way I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
Thanks for the link.
Thanks for alerting us to the need kassie.
The media is really piling on Kerik. Astounding the Rats didn't care that Clinton had an affair in the White House with a girl barely out of her teens who worked for him but seem so terribly concerned that Kerik MAY have had an affair with a grown woman.
Kerik wasn't in a position of high power like Clinton was and he didn't sign legislation about sexual harrassment in the workplace like Clinton did and then violate that legislation at every turn.
Thanks so much for the prayers. These people are the gentlest people I've ever met. They are warm, friendly people who are very eager to help out with any project.
Prayers continue for Emily. What a girl! !
Last night while my husband watched a football game, I watched Miracle on 34th Street. It was the original version with Natalie Wood.
I love this time of year with all the good Christmas movies; we watch them over and over every year. And I noticed that on each commercial break, even Mr. Peach was switching to the movie!
Sometimes I think it would be relatively easy to check out young men as marriage material for our daughters. Make sure the men have enough sentimentality in them that they can appreciate movies like Miracle on 34th Street and ... viola... I'll bet they make good husbands too.
The youngest just got up. She did not sleep through the night, but got up about 3:30 to take some tylenol. She still has a mild fever, no energy and an upset stomach. Poor dear. At this point, we treat the symptoms.
Lucianne also hinted at the mob ties...
bev, hope you're okay with all the bad weather out your way! Winter on the OR coast, right?
Utah Girl, hope your leg is coming along....
kay, I watched the WH Christmas special on HGTV Sat. night.
One thing I didn't remember from before was all the "snow" they dumped on many of the trees! I didn't like that - not that they care!!! - but I like the green of the trees. And what a mess to keep clean! White stuff everywhere....
Well, the weather isn't the greatest, but I'm going out to look for some fabric for a new seat cover....
My husband is wrapping up a 2+ year work project soon, and the jobs are piling up for him when he's "ready" LOL!
One of them is to undo the old screws on the chair seat! Gosh they're set in concrete it seems like!
I'm so sorry she is still feeling under the weather. Are you still thinking it might be Malaria?
Yes. All the symptoms are consistent. I'm keeping an eye on the fever. I'm not positive; I can't be w/o a blood slide. I just gave her the second dose of meds. We'll see.
Any word on your neighbors?
How long does it take for the medication to work?
Keeping her in our prayers.
Now it turns out he was having an affair with two women, at the same time.
But, frankly, it doesn't matter because, and this is the important distinction between this Administration and UOx42, HE IS NO LONGER IN THE RUNNING FOR THE POSITION.
So, what we have, is the media standing at a site where they were told an accident was going to happen, the necessary vehicles have long past, but they're still waiting for the event.
Like Lurch, they are LOSERS!!
G'morning Toby. Cutting firewood warms you twice! :>)
Chair, the 'other woman' thing is a big problem in law enforcement, a very serious problem. But, then again, it is only about sex ya know.
You are so right.
"thanks for stopping by "
hi, Thanks for the post! I m a newbie here. I quite like this site and try as often as possible to login here from my company account here in Pune (India). Yes, ur right our timings are reversed, we generally go to bed when u folks get up.
This site is great....i get to connect with mainstream America to get to know more about ur country!
I like the discussions here but at times the American lingo is a bit confusing for me. I think i'll get used to it!
Cheers!
Gengis.. I would love to go to India someday.. and as I know virtually diddle about much of it, will surely note PUME as a place to check out. I have been to Pacific Rim/Asia & central & south America. Never to Europe & points east toward you.Glad to have you with us. How did you find Free Republic? I find it interesting that so many in our own country are apolitical & here is someone abroad who takes an interest.
Kass & LBKQ - biking in snow is not bad when you are on a mountain bike. In winter I am rarely on my road bikes. We have had some squalls here this am.. Molly & I live about 25 miles apart. I am into the edge of the snow belt off Lake Erie, being further North & east than she is. I am often amazed to have much snow here & drive into Akron & see the difference.
in case you missed this was posted at the end of weekend thread..
