This is weird. I got a real sense of deja vu reading your post. There was something similar to this a couple of years back, but I can't lock my mind onto it.
Anyway, I had Conan on for a minute last night, and he said, "We really need to reach out to the red states and let the healing begin. I'm serious. We need to have material they can relate to. So, here's shotgun-totin' NASCAR Jesus!" A guy in a robe and beard comes out in a little toy car, carrying a shotgun. I flipped the channel. Not that I didn't know Conan was an idiot anyway.
Just keep letting the left fall on the sword for 2 or 3 percent of the population.
They will never win national office again.
I have not watched SNL since they stopped doing comedy.
Speaking of SNL, Tina Fey is NOT funny. I can't watch the show anymore and she has a lot to do with it. She is NOT funny. And I state this because people who reguarly tell me that this chick is funny. She sucks.
Oh, and her movie, 'Mean Girls.' It totally SUCKED, other than Lindsey Lohan's huge breasts.
The most sincere form of flattery or just plain old fashioned Derision, either way it was funny to at least 48% of the population.
It did not grow their audience, you just said you won't ever watch again, so it shrunk by at least one.
They operate in the same realm that we do and if they become unprofitable, they will go away.

I was an avid SNL fan 20 years ago. I would adjust my schedule to watch an episode.
Now, I could care less as it is simplistic, amateurish and easily predictable.
I'm not watching.......I'm here on line with you all!
Today's horribly unfunny SNL is nothing but the DNA remains of the great Carvey, Miller, Farley, Spade, Sandler, and Hartman days.
The concept of SNL was a great one. They have always had a vengence against the right. They trashed Gerald Ford to the point that it was rediculous. Ford was a pretty good football player during his college days. SNL tried to pass him off as some uncoordinated oaf. Many bought it.
Then we got that buffoon Carter.
The lampooning of the leftist presidents come off as them being smart, but pretty slick. The lampooning of conservative presidents comes off depicting them as stupid, bumbling fools or senile.
I haven't watch SNL regularly in about 20 years. The early writing was pretty damned good. Now it's all shock value and vile disgusting skits. Who needs that trash.
Too bad.
They also managed to do the Condi/Powell slam also...
I wonder how long before they're tossing us to the lions (again)?
