We are 48º F
56 here on the left coast. It's been frosty the last few mornings. I've actually had to drag out my comforter for the bed. The furnace even started running before we got up yesterday morning. Now, that's cold! brrrrrr
It's supposed to be cold here tonight too..and then warming back up tomorrow..
I can't say I'm not jealous.....
But I promised I wouldn't complain after Pup's post-hurricane pics.
So I won't....I love it here!!!!!!! I love my nest, I love my nest, in all the world my nest is best!!!!!
Besides.....it's....... Friday.....
:-)
Cold?
You don't know cold.......
Anymore......
*Still smiling*
You promised me it was going to be Friday........and it is....
So where are the revellers?
Aliens.
Where are they when it's party time?
Party time? Everybody left........Helloooooooo.......
*Listening for echo*
*splash splash splash*
Help! Help!

Yup, party time.
You know eating the thread is not good for you.
At least she escaped.........
Yup, I was bad.
Thread eating shall become a new fad.
Snake guide out in the desert?
:( *sniveling..*
No slithery inter-species parties anymore.......Dang!
I remember cold all too well. My comments were quite tongue-in-cheek. When I lived in the central Idaho mountains, I drove a Ford Range pickup 4X4 because of the snow and ice on the roads. I figured if it was bad enough to have to chain up the four wheel drive, then the roads were too bad for me to drive on.
I had an in-line heater in the pickup for the really cold nights, like when it got below -20. There was one morning when it had gotten down to 50 below, and I had to go out to my job at the ski area. Unnnnggghhh.
The first place I lived in when I moved there was this crappy little cabin with an add-on kitchen and bathroom. The only heat in the place was a baseboard electric heater in the kitchen, and a marginal wood burning stove in the living room. It was so bad, I was afraid of it. I bought a new one to use while I lived there. Although I really loved skiing, I don't miss living in that climate.
Summers were too short. The ice didn't melt off of Payette Lake usually until May, and it wasn't unusual to get snow in September and October.
I love the long, hot dry summers we have here. It usually quits raining in April (although we can get a few sprinkles in May), and rainy season doesn't usually start again until mid-October. It's shirt-sleeve weather usually until November, and often times I only need a light jacket.
I knew that.......just busting your chops. I've never seen 50 below.........And don't really want to....
Good story.
I knew you knew. :) And I don't care to ever see 50 below again. Frost on my windshield is about my limit these days.
.....Westy.....
I'll have you know those are very wussie remarks ............LOL......
Were you a down hiller or a cross country type person?
Downhill for the most part. I bought a season pass every year for, I think, eight years, although I skiied for probably 20 years. I did a little track skiing, on groomed trails. Don't ski anymore - the Sierra is a few hours away, too crowded, the snow is too wet and heavy, my husband doesn't ski and doesn't care to learn. I was pretty spoiled by being just a short drive away from the local ski area. Because it was colder in the central Idaho mountains than in the Sierra, the snow was a lot drier and fluffier. They don't call it "Sierra cement" for nothin'.
