AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 1397) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | November 17, 2004 | All of Us

Posted on 11/17/2004 4:33:22 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Hopefully this is not the foreshadowing of a recurrence of a bad dream...

RECOUNT OF PRESIDENTIAL BALLOTS WILL OCCUR IN OHIO...

...STORY HERE

This recount is being demanded and financed by Libertarian and Green Party wackos in the Buckeye State.

In Iraq, terrorists are vowing the current round of violence is only the beginning of what American troops will face. (EN--At the current KIA ratio, they'd better hope it's a short story...)

NASA's X-43A aircraft reached Mach 9.7 in a flight yesterday.

ABC aired a racy promo of Desperate Housewives just before Monday Night Football a couple of nights ago. Viewers have complained, the NFL has said it was inappropriate, and the network has apologized.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

That's an outrageous comment on all levels...

They keep running off the cliff....

Ralph Peters was just on Bennett...

He said the military amazes him how fast it learns....We took Fallujah fast because the media is the other foe besides the terrorists...and we must win fast, and overwhelmingly to beat both.

It is really gets me that we let both win the first battle of F. last spring. BUT I understand that such things will happen.

Such failures must not happen again and again, tho.

Thanks! Just talking with Mr. Prairie, we have reservations at a nice little cozy Italian restaurant tonight. Little neighborhood place, serves excellent food. Will have chewy bread with olive oil and cheese, caesar salad prepared at the table, probably calimari, and......who knows? Ought to be fun.

I'm off to check out the threads, must get some things accomplished this morning too.

Such failures must not happen again and again, tho.

One must also remember the context that the First Battle of Fallujah was fought. It was in the lead up to primary season in our electoral process. The Administration was aware of that, and also aware of how the media was playing this (not exactly a pro-American bent, shall we say).

That context is done. Bush has been re-elected, and the media cannot set up a 2008 re-election defeat for President Bush so they have been marginalized. Darn that pesky Constitution...

Heh! ;^)

I recall my dad being very patient with me when the series lessons started.

But he actually started me at about 11. In church parking lots etc. Mom NEVER drove. Is rather spacy & doesn't handle pressure/crisis well. Dad knew that & said he wanted me to be able to handle the car for the family if he ever got sick..

I thought I was hot stuff driving that car around play ground & church lots on Sunday afternoons.

Good luck to you. white knuckle time. seat belts in place, double check policy is paid up! lol

I was half listening to him. Didn't hear the "fugly" remark. I know Barnicle was upset about a 19-year-old Marine killed in Iraq Monday who had played sports with Barnicle's son.

I taught both my drivers. I started them in the same place where I began my driving career ~ the local cemetary. That way, if they hit somebody, said body is already dead! LOL!

Actually, we start there because you're supposed to drive slowly there and because there is little traffic.

The president issued a slap at Colin Powel.

Yesterday Colin had a press conference. He was asked how he could still have clout with foreign nations after announcing his resignation.

Powell replied by saying that he thought that he could continue to do a good job for the remainder of his term in office.. He said he had the confidence of the President and other nations know that. Obviously Powell believed as the media believed that Powell had chosen to quit. They media believed the presdient would keep Powel in place until well after the first of the year when the new Senate would take up the confirmation of Condi.

Then today the Bush administration put out the word they want confirmation for Condi to start in 3 weeks. That would mean her confirmation would be complete in a month.

Powell would have less than a month to serve and Condi would be in office by the middle of December. That is obviuosly not what Powell had in mind.

The purpose of this was President Bush telling the world that Powell had been asked for his resignation. That Powell will not be speaking for the Administration.

Apparently Powell has been playing hanky panky with the press in the last year or so.. and Bush is sending a message to the rest of his administration that such behaviour will not be tolerated.

I also wonder about Rummy. Rummy was Cheney's mentor. Cheney appears to be in good stead with the President. Cheney had an avid supporter in Condi. Condi is running state. Cheney and Rummy are very close and Rummy has put out the word that he wants to stay.

It will be very interesting to see what happens in the Department of Defense. There are rumors that Rummy will be gone shortly after the first of the year. But like many rumors, they may not be true.

The conventional wisdom was Powell wanted out. I think it is equally true that the President wanted him gone. It seems to me quite likely that we are going to succeed in Iraq. The preemption policy is going to look good in history. Powell will wait to see if it is, before he starts trashing the President. Being the Secretary of State the President needed to replace in order to defeat Muslim terrorism, is not a good spot in history.

I think Powell will not critcize the President.. not until the outcome in the middle east is clear. That gives Bush the power to put Powell in his place a bit..

It is indeed interesting to watch George W. Bush at work. He is indeed misunderestimated.

Has anyone noticed that the camera is focused on the 2 terrorists that are crumpled over each other (unknown whether they are dead or alive), but the terrorist that is the focus of attention from the marines is laying under a blanket or something in the blurry background????

A caller into Bill Bennett's show just pointed this out, and Dr. Bennett wasn't even aware of it! I thought it was obvious that it was the terrorist in the background that is the one that gets shot. Is the MSM trying to make it look like these 2 (apparently motionless) terrorists in the foreground are the terrorists that the marine is shooting? SHEESH!

Those "front numbers" change for me too next year; we will have to celebrate.

Those libs calling Condi names have proven once again that the self named party of tolerance is actually the bigoted party.

Hi 2/3rds! I missed that call & the video also. You've got me wondering, and yes, quite possibly the MSM has got us all in a tizzy over nothing.

I had a new driving experience yesterday.

Monday's work was simply awful: I didn't finish the mail until after 7:30, nearly 3 hours after dark. I got only about 2 hours of sleep Monday night and was back at it bright and early Tuesday, again dealing with tons of mail.

Shortly after I finally started my mail route, my car overheated. It was the water pump that went out. I had almost more mail in my car than I could safely carry and several big packages back at the post office which I planned to take later and steam was pouring out of my car.

I managed to limp back to the post office just in time to catch a friend who had already finished his mail route and was ready to go home. He offered me his right-hand drive Subaru to use and I finally opted for that over having Mrs. Mulliner bring our pick up.

We got someone else to carry about half the mail while I did the rest in the Subaru. Things went well enough and I finished just a little after dark.

I never thought I'd want a right-hand drive vehicle because I'd rather have the mail in front of me, but I might have to rethink that.

I have today off from work, but have to go pay for my new water pump which was installed yesterday afternoon so I may deliver some mail just so we can get caught up as I had to leave a lot behind yesterday in the scramble.

I found a picture from one of my two trips to Indonesia yesterday and had it scanned. I'll try to show it to you later today.

Yes, I've wondered about Rumsfeld too. Ran across this on the cartoon thread and will ask everybody's indulgence in posting just this one. I hope it doesn't turn out this way, probably will....
