AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 1397) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | November 17, 2004 | All of Us

Posted on 11/17/2004 4:33:22 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Hopefully this is not the foreshadowing of a recurrence of a bad dream...

RECOUNT OF PRESIDENTIAL BALLOTS WILL OCCUR IN OHIO...

...STORY HERE

This recount is being demanded and financed by Libertarian and Green Party wackos in the Buckeye State.

In Iraq, terrorists are vowing the current round of violence is only the beginning of what American troops will face. (EN--At the current KIA ratio, they'd better hope it's a short story...)

NASA's X-43A aircraft reached Mach 9.7 in a flight yesterday.

ABC aired a racy promo of Desperate Housewives just before Monday Night Football a couple of nights ago. Viewers have complained, the NFL has said it was inappropriate, and the network has apologized.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

No, I didn't hear him. I haven't turned the TV on yet...hubby is still asleep.

Ijaz SOUNDS credible, but I'm not sure he ever says anything that is true.

Morning Jane...

Day off here.....need to get this unna boot cut off today.

CNN's embed reporter Jane Ayraff(sp) just filed a report that a bomb making factory has been found in the southern part of Fallujah. A car has been found in the bomb factory with Texas license plates. Dead bodies have been found also.....could it be the leaders?? A safe house was found with letters addressed to Abu Musab Zarqawi inside.

Texas license plates? How weird.

Interesting news about the bomb factory and Zarkhawi.

Something is going on in North Korea.....found this over on Powerline.

There's Something Happening Here

What it is isn't exactly clear, yet, but something important might be happening in North Korea. Roger Simon writes:

It's Thursday in Japan and I have received email from Kyoto from Mongai Kome, frequent commenter on this blog. His morning paper (Sankei Shinbun) is reporting anti-regime flyers being posted in over fifty places in North Korea. This public display of disobedience in that benighted country is unprecedented and has been going on for the last month.

Here is Mongai:

The most prevalent flyer is called the "sixteen lies" of tyrant Kim and his tyrant father and it takes apart the fundamental myths and propaganda regarding the cult of the Kims and outlines the failings of the regime. Another flyer is based on the thesis that Kim Jong-il killed his father (perhaps some propaganda in and of itself but a brilliant move given the traditions of the Korean culture.)

Here is hoping things happen in twos and in Iran and North Korea justice will be done, and done soon, and done of, by, and for the people there with a little help from friends.

From earlier in his email, Mongai means Bush and Rice who he is happy are in office, considering the circumstances.

Roger's report coincides with this from Reuters:

North Korea seems to be softening its hitherto rigid personality cult around leader Kim Jong-il, experts on the reclusive communist state said Thursday -- although they were still unsure why the changes had been made.

Some diplomats in Pyongyang, and other experts in the South with contacts in the North, said this week that portraits of Kim had been removed from some public places, starting as far back as September or even August. Others say little has changed.

In Tokyo, a Japanese news agency said Thursday that North Korean media had dropped the most laudatory references to leader Kim Jong-il in the Korean broadcasts and texts it monitors.

North Korea is one of the places of which it can truly be said that things can only get better. Let's hope it's starting to happen.

I saw that last night. American in Tokyo has also picked up some stories about this.

Hmmm. Could we have had a covert operation? Or has North Korea gotten so bad that even the military wants to get rid of the nut-case? Or is North Korea trying to trick us?

Ping me if you see anything more about this.

I'd be interested in a ping to more info on what's going on in North Korea too.

I kind of miss the days when I could tune in their silly English news broadcasts on my shortwave.

Good morning. I have been awake since 3:30 this morning as well; it's going to be a long day at school.

The kids have been cranky for two weeks in a row now and my friend and I who try and teach are becoming more and more convinced it's because their parents are in bad moods about the election :-)

The schoolkids did their own "election" and Kerry won so that tells us what their parent's mindset is.

Good Morning. Short night for me.

When I went to bed, someone after 1:00 am, I lauched the Spy-Bot program. It was still running when I got up a little after 6:00. What are the chances that it was still downloading an update? I closed it out and will call the computer guru for advice once her door opens.

Busy afternoon & evening here again today.

The coffee is probably ready. BBL

I've run Spy Bot before and it's never taken that long so it sounds like you were smart to close it out, IG.

Opening and deleting emails takes forever. I've got a problem in there somewhere.

Thank you for affirming that it shouldn't take 5 hrs to Update. I'm always fearful that I'm screwing something up when I shut it off before it's finished doing it's thing.

The Omaha World Herald is reporting this morning that Nelson is 'mum' about the Secretary of Ag job.

There are several "I am happy doing what I'm doing right now" quotes. Sorry, I don't have a link, it was sent to me via email by one of my DC contacts.

Nelson article here.

Some of his quotes,I think, may have left the door open a crack , just in case.

...When asked if there was any way he would change his mind, Nelson repeated: "I'm happy doing what I'm doing. This is today, and there's tomorrow and there's another day and whatever, but as of right now, I'm very happy with what I'm doing." Nelson.

Thanks for the link. My sources still think it'll be somebody from the trade. I wonder if Nelson isn't more valuable in his Senate role.
