We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Hopefully this is not the foreshadowing of a recurrence of a bad dream...
RECOUNT OF PRESIDENTIAL BALLOTS WILL OCCUR IN OHIO...
This recount is being demanded and financed by Libertarian and Green Party wackos in the Buckeye State.
In Iraq, terrorists are vowing the current round of violence is only the beginning of what American troops will face. (EN--At the current KIA ratio, they'd better hope it's a short story...)
NASA's X-43A aircraft reached Mach 9.7 in a flight yesterday.
ABC aired a racy promo of Desperate Housewives just before Monday Night Football a couple of nights ago. Viewers have complained, the NFL has said it was inappropriate, and the network has apologized.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
Happy Birthday, sweetie!!!
Happy Birthday, PB. Have a nice evening out with your hubby.
Nope.
Also from the "I can't make this stuff up, folks!" category...
Berkeley, California.
If homeless folks abandon their shopping carts, no problem, the city will take care of the cart and its contents.
But that's not all!
People complained about vermin infesting the storage lot where the carts were being kept.
So, what does this bastion of liberalism undertake? Do they discard the shopping carts and their contents?
NO!
They spend--NO KIDDING!!--$8,200 for a 40-foot-long, 8-foot-wide refigerated container.
Yes, there's still more!!
The City of Berkeley is running a $7.5 million deficit, but no matter. Berkeley signs a five-year, $61,500 lease with Caltrans for land under the University Avenue overpass at Highway 80 for a place to put the container.
But that's not all, either!!
But there's still more!!!
The City of Berkeley PAID TO RUN POWER TO THE CONTAINER!!!
The estimated cost to deep freeze the material will be about $3,000/year!
Beam me up, Scotty...
FOX news has Lantos (?) speaking about oil for blood. And how the program 'oil for food' was manipulated.
The Wall Street Journal has one heck of a piece on this.
U.N. deserted leads in oil-for-food investigation
Excerpt:
A private intelligence firm hired by the United Nations to look into corruption in the oil-for-food program provided valuable leads to U.N. investigators, but they were ignored, the company's director says.
Connections between the U.N. program and a French organized crime figure who U.S. officials said was a conduit for oil-for-food-related payments to French President Jacques Chirac.
KABOOM!
This is going to get very interesting.
Lawsuit says Michael Jackson borrowed $3 million from porn producer and fails to repay
Thanks, y'all! I'm having a good time doing just what I want to do. (Which isn't much!)

Yes! Get on the pre-sign up list for tickets at this link Are you ready for an Inaugural Ball?
I think they are still finalizing the contract for the party, and the formal announcement is coming soon.
Prairie
Alas, I will not make it this go around. I can tell you the first was a blast, so this should be as good if not better.
Yawn.
Now here's something interesting...
Durn! I was hoping you'd be able to make it, but fully understand life-circumstances too.
Iraq?
Nope--Germany, 1946.
So we're not doing too bad in Iraq after all.
WW II Flashback: 'Terrorists' Kill 1,000 Americans in Postwar Germany
CNN's Inside politics report that Rove offered Nelson (D. Ne) Sec of Agriculture..Rove is BRILLIANT
Really great picture!
Thanks, HOB!
Kay, I remember you telling me about your own personal connection with, I think, Jeff Gordon. When I first moved to Tennessee in 2002, I had no real knowledge of or real interest in NASCAR. Now I'm looking for other people at work to talk to about it and can't wait to see if Jimmie Johnson's awesome momentum carries him over the top in this season's last race on Sunday.
Do I qualify as a Southerner yet?
