The Hobbit Hole XVI - Still round the corner there may wait...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Still round the corner there may wait...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

So I'm both defiant and a little nervous...

Let your defiance loose!! I've got TWO Bush Cheney bumperstickers on my van;one from the 2000 election that I never removed, and a new one "W Stands for Women". Coming home from Boston on Sat. I saw quite a few B/C stickers!!

I want one of those W for Women ones! I wish I wasn't such a procrastinator...I've been meaning to get various Bush / Cheney things, but just didn't do it, and now it's just about too late.

I like the stickers that just say "W" with a little flag, too.

No, we don't have an air cleaner. But that's a good idea. Nana has a lot of trouble with Bronchitis in the winter as well. I'm still blaming most of this though on the stuff stirred up from the bathroom remodel. He should be mostly finished by tomorrow.

Well, I found the original document. At least I'm not as inept as it initially appeared.

There's some problem with my network connection here. So apparently one of the times I got booted off last week, the document was saved under program files, but with the same name.

'Course I'd just spent two hours recreating most of it, when it crashed again and I found the original file.

At least it's done now. And NOT saved to the network.

I know how you feel! On Friday, I left my magnetic bumper stickers on my truck in the parking lot at work. It's a pretty new truck, and everyone knows it's mine, too. I felt pretty self-conscious the rest of the day, but there was a part of me silently screaming, "go ahead, make my day!" hoping someone would make something of it.

After my experience on Saturday, I've now picked up a yard sign that I'm hoping I get a chance to wave somewhere with a few people before Nov 2nd.

Good for you for keeping the bumper sticker on. I am not brave enough to leave mine on when my truck is parked. Part of me would like to, but I don't want to face my Dad being mad at me for asking for trouble if anything happens to it, especially since he helped pay for the truck to begin with!

You'll have to let us know if you get any reactions...

Oooh, I love your button! That's exactly the one I want. They didn't have anything like that left at the Pierce Co office, they hardly had any yard signs, and just a few bumper stickers were left. It looks like there is very high demand for this stuff, I'm going to take it as a very good sign!

Hmmm..now I have to decide whether to take you up on your offer...I want a better lapel pin too, plus I'm thinking of getting some other stuff. Maybe I should just bite the bullet and pay through the nose for the expedited shipping to get it all from the website. I sure do appreciate your offer, though!

Good luck...I'm seeing people hauling big Bush/Cheney signs out there regularly. They've done quite a business in the past week or so.

Hullo...

Sigh. My cellphone went off in class. It has rung once in the last three weeks. I always mute it. But today, noooo... and I have no clue who called me.

OK, off to run a FEW errands before I settle down for the evening...but it's a trip to Staples to spend my birthday money, so that's part of the fun.

An extended birthday, I heb!
