Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Do you think cholesterol is overrated as a danger?
Thanks, I'm going to start boarding up the house tomorrow, I think, or at least getting my storm shutters out.
Rudy is doing GREAT.
I think we're about to start talking about the Giuliani ticket in 08.
Ah! Have you seen those deer sprinklers? They have a motion sensor and will spray a stream of water on whatever comes into the beam. So, soaking wet vandals + electric fence = winning combination.
'nite all. Am up waaaaay past my bedtime.
How 'bout Rudy and Condi in '08?
Perhaps Rudy will slay the Hildebeast in '06. Quick commentary 'fore I head off to pack...heading to Denver tomorrow after a stint on the telly defending furniture purchases. Will try to post from Denver tomorrow night.
Wow... you gotta get outta town all the way to Denver before you talk about furniture? hehehe... musta' been some pretty 'spensive stuff. :-)
Well... at least it ain't Brame... :-)
"Total Eclipse of the Heart"
Every time I hear about that song I can only think of the movie 'Old School' hehehe
Denver? Have fun. If you happen to have time to spare, don't miss the mountains - they're right there!
There are a lot of us social conservatives who aren't totally thrilled with Rudy or Condi. They're good people, but they're not pro-life the way W is. I don't think you could have them both on the ticket.
Personally, I'd rather see Condi and a nice strong moral conservative, like Santorum.
Denver will be much better, but I won't make it to the mountains...which is OK 'cause I'd want to go during ski season!
Maybe so. I like her lots. Though, a VP slot would probably be some other rising star. I've been getting a feeling (utterly unsubstantiated) that Condi is headed for something like Sec State in a future republican admin. Or maybe even a second Bush term if Powell steps aside which is possible or likely. Turnover in the cabinet is to be expected between terms.
There are people that are natural staff positions, and people that are natural line positions. Powell, for example, has almost always been a staff officer and not a line officer. He is at his best when he is in an advisory position rather than a decision-making position. Both personality types are needed but they are not interchangeable.
I won't get to the mountains...but I'd be unhappy this time of year, 'cause I want to go when it's skiing time!
They're really beautiful this time of year. And you can get at more of 'em, bits that are inaccessible in the winter.
I hear Rudy/Jeb is being bantered about.
Excellent! I want to see him... hope he comes to CO sometime.
Yeah, Rudy would make a really excellent senator from New York. Not Prez.
Hey, do you write? Stories, I mean? I'm starting to put together my "bug list" for NaNoWriMo this November (National Novel Writing Month) and wonder if you should be on it...
