The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Thanks! One of the funnier ones I've seen. That and the one I know is FedEx and all in Japanese...boss seems to ask "how did you send it?"

I agree! I hate having to learn lines though...what I hear in my head and what comes out of my mouth end up being two different things.

I used to joke in college about how I could never cut a break with my natural (hyper) energy because at anthro parties, I'd be bouncing from person to person, most of whom I either had in a class or talked to before trying to talk to them, and they'd all be "whoa, maaaaan! slow down! have you been drinking?!" (and I never had a drop of beer even...) but I'd turn around to go to theater parties, and not knowing anyone at all, get real shy and just wander about watching the theatre students bounce off the walls and some were like "Hey! What's wrong with you? Take some bad drugs or something?!"

I couldnt win either way.

I was too much of a freaky personality to ever make it in a sorority.

Heh... we're intelligent... we never claimed to be smart.

Ok, the program is now being debugged. And I seem to be missing all the standard java libraries. How'd that happen?

I'm not so sure that's selfish as much as it is self-defense... :-)

That's a good one too! Can't find it on their website, though.

Hmm...could LotR become the next RHPS?

We could do our own at the next Entmoot!

I'd love to go to one of those Sound of Music sing alongs! I love that movie, and I think it would be fun to just be able to belt out "THE HILLS ARE ALIVE WITH THE SOUND OF MUSIC", and not be looked at like I'm some sort of loon! LOL!

Are the shoes getting looser? Try putting on an extra pair of socks next time to see if that helps.

Can we puh-Leeze not dredge up That particular debate again :)

"'Nillas!"
"Buttermilk biscuits!"
"Magical elvish stuff you could never imitate!"
"Doritos!" (Bang! Thud.) "OK, that one was WAY out of line."
