Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
I don't mind going grey...I've deep brown hair and the grey gives it some variety! LOL
The jedis and I were examining one of my hairs (they are falling out root and all)...I pointed out how it used to be brown (at the tip) and had turned almost clear white at the root. The hair falling out of my head is about a foot long...a little less.
The thrift shop where I get most of my clothes is a consignment place...but considering the average price for a pair of jeans there is only four or five bucks, I doubt I'd get much.
And these are brand new Eddie Bauer jeans! I shouldn't be ticked off...but I am, too!
I'd really like to have the exact same ones just a size smaller, but that ain't gonna happen.
Hats off the the Swift Boat guys!!
Microsoft wants me to update to the service pack 2 now...I'm not doing anything till I hear from you. What should I do?
I got that feeling when I was reading the books, but even MORE so when seeing the movies.
A heavenly place, it was!
Prayers for the job going up, hon!
Run away, run away. It's not ready for beta-test yet.
Ok. So just ignore it (or as my five-year-old says "Just annoy it?")
My boss is having us run it on our systems (meaning the IT dept.) and it hasn't caused MAJOR problems...but if I were you I'd wait a bit.
It was nice meeting you too. I remembered you right away (you have such a wonderful smile) but I wasn't sure if you would remember me. I look forward to being on this EGroup.
Isn't that nice??? Made me feel as good as Jen saying I was doing good when I run an ad scan on my computer every day!
Just little things like that can make my whole day! Always seems to kinda surprise me.
SSQ's first job right out of grad school was as an Asst. Prof. at Purdue. By January, he'd decided it wasn't for him, and the decision to move was compounded by the fact that it was late in Carter's presidency and the mortgage rates were so high that there was no way we were ever going to be able to buy a house without my having to get a job, which we didn't want cause I wanted to stay home with the kids. A friend was working in telecommunications in NJ, and convinced (didn't take much) SSQ to move over there so he could make some money. And you're right, it was almost DOUBLE the income!
He'd like to teach again, and may do so when he's retired from this company. We'll move to a place where he can work and have an adjunct position at a nearby college.
I'd definitely ignore it. I haven't installed it on my machine yet! (I'm worried it'll conflict with the program I use to download anime files and haven't bothered to check if it actually does cause problems yet.)
Rush is playing the new Swift Boat ad. I think Kerry is toast.
There's been speculation on other threads that Hillary would sweep in on her broom, BUT what about Edwards? Wouldn't the logical thing be to bump him up to the top?
Otherwise you have the RATS admitting they nominated TWO people who are "Unfit to Command."
I don't think we should get complacent or overly confident. But I DO think it's not unreasonable to start thinking about plans for Inauguration-Moot.
I'd love to teach at a college level. I love theory and I think I can explain things pretty well. But I'm looking to work for a very few years and then have a family, maybe work part time; so when I do work, I want the most bang for the buck.
*sigh*
That was my plan, too.
The best-laid schemes o' mice an' men...
Don't remind me, eh?
Anyway, I won't worry about that just yet. I'm still enjoying my youth and freedom. Or so I tell myself, as my Friday night is as boring and solitary as every one before it....
Was just now watching PBS...Mr. Rogers fixin' to come on. Shows a commercial for PBS and has Big Bird going up to this little girl's house, knocking on the door, taking the little girl on an adventure.
I was appalled! I said to Joshua "What would you do if someone that looked like Big Bird came to our house and tried to get you to go somewhere with him?"
Joshua replied "I'd shoot 'im."
Why? Big Bird is a friend. He wouldn't be portrayed as a stranger.
Nah, Big Bird is evil. Like Barney. Shoot him.
