The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Oh, and he said he thought the slight anemia was why my hair is falling out...but I still think it was the abrupt diet change when we started atkins...caused a weird ridge in my toenails too! LOL

Was 37 the episode with Armstrong's sister and the "mysterious warehouse"? That's based on a pair of gaiden in the manga (silly side stories).

I like Roy too. I like Ed better... darn... hope that doesn't make me a pervert...

Well...he MAY be closer to your age than Roy...I dunno! In any case, I want Roy. Nicely deep character, and very sarcastic. Fine qualities.

Yeah, that's 37. Kind of a bunch of mini episodes, and bizarre ones at that.

But older guys are ok. Sorta. Teenage guys aren't.

You're right, sarcastic is very good. I like Ed's weird rages, though, especially when he gets mad about his height. And he has better angst than Roy.

Thanks for the link. I sent it on to SSQ. I've known about TransFats for a while. That's why I've using Smart Balance spread, and we've made an effort to avoid Hydrogenated oils in snacks, etc. Trader Joe's has a line of snack crackers that don't have hydrogenated oils.

I've only found two brands of Tortilla chips that use only Canola oil; Cape Cod Chips and Snyder's of Hanover (the folks who make all the pretzels). Both brands are good, but Snyder's is less expensive. I guess Trader Joe's might have only Canola oil, too, but I've never checked!

DOH! I just realized I'm sitting here with Print Shop Deluxe version 15, and it looks like, from the picture on the front of the case that it makes full labels for CDs! I'll check it out and let you know.

I bought some eggplant and was wondering what to do with it, the SB way. I'm used to dredging it with bread crumbs. The way you did it sounds good, and I've got all that stuff. I'll fix it for lunch tomorrow, cause SSQ doesn't like Parmesan cheese, and smelling it baking would make him gag! LOL!

Y'know. Speaking of no-trans crackers (which I'm craving right now)- Kashi brand is really, really good. Really, really, really good. Man, some crackers and some chevre cheese. mmmMMM. Anyway they're called "TLC- Tasty Little Crackers" by Kashi. I've been finding them in the grocery store. They're a special treat for me and I pile them high with exotic cheeses.

I've looked at Smart Balance- and I'd say it's the next best thing to butter. Probably better than butter if you don't use any other solid animal fats in your diet. The body needs the variety of fatty acids.

It is pretty good and easy. I forgot to mention that I cooked the chicken first and heated the sandwich afterward only to melt the cheese.

Kashi is the brand that I buy at Trader Joes. They are cheaper there than at the local grocery store. They are VEY good.

Smart Balance is a good way to get that butter fix I need, and for doing scrambled eggs and omelets, etc. I'd gotten used to not having butter on toast, bagels, etc. Nowadays I'd probably have low fat cream cheese, or the Light Laughing Cow cheese (I love that stuff!)
