Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Hill and water under sky
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

It is annoying when folks who haven't traveled anywhere are so adamant that where they live is the ONLY pretty place on earth. I love the South, but there are gorgeous places all over this country. Where Rosie lives is beautiful, especially in the Fall. When we move back down South, I will truly miss the changing of the seasons. We've been to Montana, Wyoming and Arizona, and they all have their special beauty. We're planning to take the kids to Northern California next year. We want to see Yosemite and the giant redwoods! SSQ doesn't want to go to San Francisco, though; he doesn't like big cities and crowds!
But I still maintain that the 'Redneck Riviera' has the most beautiful sandy shorelines and gorgeous water. ;o)

Ok Bear, I just finished watching "The Usual Suspects" and I'm really disturbed. Not by the movie, but because I figured out the twist way early. In the scene where the Japanese lawyer shows up. Is there something weird with the way I think?

Now that's just settin' yourself up :)
To: JenB
Wow... what gave it away, or in other words, how did you figure it out?

(I have to admit it, Joe sure knows how to live.)

I keep looking at that picture and cracking up :)

For what it's worth, I don't think you said or did anything wrong, and there's certainly no reason to apologize for anything.

When the guy said "Who is Keyser Soze?". Something in my head went click!
I've probably read waaaay too many Agatha Christie novels. Or maybe women's intuition? Dunno. Maybe I'm just as suspicious as all get-out.

The Agatha Christie novels were my guess, too.

Ah, well, sometimes it happens that way with "gotcha" movies. I figured out the secret to "The Sixth Sense" fairly early on the first time I saw it, spent the rest of the movie accumulating evidence for my suspicion.
Do you think you're up to trying "Fight Club"? ;)

Probably not. We'll see.
Dinnertime! Hmm, stir-fry is not spicy enough. Double the amount of sriachi next time. I want to kill my taste buds at least one meal a day.

Good article! :) How are you tonight?
To: Fedora

I wish I could help out with the disaster relief, but like I say...they haven't even called the Oklahoma group up and I haven't had my training yet anyways.

LOL!
So how do you like the new kitchen?
To: Fedora
Pre-season...that means our subs are playing your subs.
I haven't been around the hole much in the last few weeks...crazy busy stuff and little time for freepin'. Becoming a world traveler too...heading to Denver in a couple of weeks and then to Alabama next month. Busy, busy. Life needs to slow down.
To: 2Jedismom
Well, you do what you can--posting the article counts for something. What training do you have to do?
To: Fedora
Lovin the kitchen, lovin the "new" bathroom...NOT lovin the job. Tomorrow is once again the day I have to run those payrolls that keep me there until 7pm at least.
I miss my old job all the time, but I ~really~ miss it on days like tomorrow. *sigh*
