Home is behind, the world ahead, |
I was hoping to find the anime, actually; but if I see the manga I might get it for future reading, depending on how expensive it is. Now that I'm talking about this I think I should see if Green Bay has a good video store while I'm there.
Figure on manga to be 8 to 10 dollars a volume. And so far there are six volumes (eventually 28) of Kenshin, 4 (at least 14 total) of Fruits Basket... I think there are six Eva-manga out now.
G'night, spam-master :)
Well, "Kenshin" and "Fruits Basket" are the priority. Plus I have to see what they have. I will also be taking notes for future visits. I have a feeling they get a lot of anime-related stuff in based on what I saw during my last visit. It looks like a lot of teenage kids hang out there and play D&D and stuff in addition to the comics.
Somebody said they thought the President was going to be at the Naval Air Station this week, but I haven't seen a local paper since we got here, so I don't know.
My younger sister and her hubby are over in Gulf Shores this week, so we're both getting rainy weather.
We're in FL, just about 5 miles from the AL line.
Glad you're safe SuziQ.
Heh...do you have to wait in line to get in the building too, lil? Because they almost always co-located us with the more secure communications folks when I was in the military, I almost always had to deal with a complicated procedure for getting into the buildings...several keypads or a guard and a combo lock. Worst place was in Italy, where they had a guard and a keypad plus a turnstile thing so you couldn't carry anything larger than a small backpack in with you. And you could only go through the things one at a time. I learned to get there early...and eventually kinda got the hang of the turnstile. First few times I had to work to keep from falling on my face...I just ain't good at those things!
Mmmm...got some Southern Pecan coffee beans yesterday, so that's what I'm having for breakfast. Why they can't just call the flavor pecan, I dunno. This is the kind I get corrected on every time I get it at the bagel shop.
Me: I'd like a medium cup of Southern Puh-CAHN coffee.
Cashier: PEE-can?
Me: Yeah, that.
I will always be corrected, 'cause I refuse to call it PEE-can (that ain't what my parents call 'em), and the local yokels don't believe there are at least two ways to pronounce it. They just think I'm stoopid. Oh well.
It's good coffee, though.
Say, "Sure...Pee-Can, you mor-RAN."
Ha ha ha!!!
Well, I'm starting out the day on the right foot, huh?
Steve mixes it up...he says "PEE-cahn".
Heh...I know either pronunciation is correct (and Steve's too, I'm guessin'!); it just irks me that they feel the need to correct me each and every time.
You're right, according to Merriam Webster online...

But ours is first...
In other news...I've officially been on South Beach for about two hours so far. Not so bad...yet. Drank the vegetable juice...blech. But I can handle 6 oz. of the stuff...would be better with vodka...
I should find something like that and print it out to take to the bagel place, just to show them it's NOT that I've never seen the word before...
"So THERE!"
I didn't do the vegetable juice. But I eat a lot of vegetables anyway, so prolly not as big of a deal for me, maybe...I do add it in occasionally NOW, if I have a day where I know I'm not going to fit in as many vegetables.
Congratulations on starting! For me, day three was the roughest. I was OK the first few days, but got a major headache and felt thirsty and a little shaky on day three.
Thanks. Didn't make it to swim this a.m. Was up until after midnight (it's Ruthy's fault).
Meeting time...back later...
LOL- the building is the easy part. It's the dratted front gate that is the PITA. May terrorists drown in bacon grease for putting us through this rigamarole!
*chuckle* It's a little early for that.
Best wishes for the low-carb diet. I hope you find it as rewarding as the rest of us have!!!
Vodka is on the Atkins diet...
;-)
Go for it, my FRiend! My little brother has lost close to 50lbs...he started SB over Easter.
Hmmm???
