Re Bonnie: I've brought in most of the outdoor furniture and plants, filled the tank with gasoline and tied down the things that can't be taken inside.
I'd batten down the hatches but I don't know where they are.
and I don't know what "batten" means

Remember the post upthread about Kerry's, "Christmas in Cambodia" tale ? Well, now, I know this is gonna surprise ya but he has a new position on where he was that Christmas. An event he described on the senate floor as being "seared --- seared in his memory" is now being called a, "Mistaken Recollection". IOW, he wasn't in Cambodia before he wasn't in Cambodia.

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland.
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

Well, they could have said, he was in Marilyn Monroe...

he has a new position on where he was that Christmas. So the Senator is caught telling lies on the Senate floor. Oh well, I'm sure it was for a good cause like helping his buddy Ortega. Has this guy ever met a dictator he didn't like?

" The stress of the campaign and the nonstop tour of battleground states is taking a toll on the Kerrys." More like the stress of daily hobnobbing with the riff raff, pretending to be human, trying to keep all the lies straight while running damage control when the truth slips out, and trying not to do something else stupid. And this idiot wants to run the country?

Re Bonnie: I've brought in most of the outdoor furniture and plants, filled the tank with gasoline and tied down the things that can't be taken inside. I'd batten down the hatches but I don't know where they are. But, have you filled the bathtub with water, checked the batteries in your lanterns and weather radio, bought propane for your coleman grill or bbq, put tape on the windows and (if you happen to be Catholic) arranged the holy candles ready for lighting? LOL

"some of his own aides are saying that his vote to authorize force wasn't really a vote to go to war" This may be a silly question, but just exactly how DID John F'n plan to use force....put Saddam in a headlock until he cried UNCLE?

"Wellllll have ya ever been to the Jersey Shore???" Only once, and that in passing and it was a long time ago. Even then, though, I remember thinking how nasty NJ looked, especially compared to the southern states and even the other states in the north. I mean, I guess New Jersey has pretty areas too. I just don't remember seeing any.

No. If water becomes a problem, there's a whole gulf full just outside. I won't need batteries or a radio to tell me it's storming, grilling is not permitted in the condo or on the deck, many of the windows are several stories up and I'm not Catholic (although I never discount anyone's religion when things get serious). Time for the beach walk. BBL
