New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Sleepy Precious fits nicely in the keywords....
Yah... well... call me a follower, but I'm outta here too.
Niters evellybody.
Ruthless precious. :-)
Here's a wintry nightlight to cool everyone off...
Is this the 12-CD super-deluxe set? What's underneath Minas Tirith?
Good morning!
Good morning! MAN did we get rain last night. We had times at the jam last night where we gave up trying to play, 'cause we couldn't hear ourselves over the roar of the rain on the roof. It was something.
Luckily it doesn't seem to have rained as hard here, just twenty minutes away. I was afraid the garden would be washed away!
Looks like it's done for now, though.
I'm going to have some pancakes (for breakfast whole wheat or flax seed, haven't make up my mind) and then walk over to the farmer's market at nine. After that I have a whole DAY with nothing I HAVE to do until late afternoon. Wow. I'm not sure I can handle the freedom.
Because while there are doubtless stellar examples of humanity named thus, that will not protect the bearer from receiving at least two schoolyard thrashings before sixth grade.
Good Morning All - Raining here and, from the looks of the radar, it's gonna be here awhile. No matter - osage stave awaits on the bow bench.
A coolish rainy July is unusual to say the least. Looks like Hair et.al. are getting our weather. Well, sorry bout that, but we got august and september to look forward to.
OT: sounds like the unpacking is coming along well. House hunting proceeding as planned?
Ruthie: kitchen coming together is great news. Getting the workmen gone and things back will be a big relief, we are sure of that.
Will be dropping off the camera today for developing. Hoping for good Gypsy pics and some more from MoJAM.
Nahhh....they gave him the sucker credit terms.
Plan? There was a plan? :)
Right now I'm enjoying being relatively debt-free and kind of looking around. The more I look at the listings on the web, the more they look the same.....too rainy to scope out locations today.
Sorry I missed the concert last night.
Rainy-ish lookin' day here. Not gonna work too hard. Gonna weed some. Do a little yard work. Finish assembling the furniture for Jr's. room.
Arthritis is acting up agin. Gonna have to get vey series about combating this. Know what I gots to do. Just gots to do it.
Gots dinner plans with friends tonite. Four couples. No kids. Wine will be had.
That's a good way to look at it. You certainly have time on your side.
The WSJ has some thoughts on modular housing, Personal Journal - Wed July 21 - Page D 9 at the bottom. These representative homes sure don't look like double wides anymore.
I'm kinda leery about new construction. I'd rather have something that was built right to begin with.
Morning Corin.
"knows what I gots to do" Avoiding stepping through ceilings would help. :-)
Six days till vacation - kewl.
"Pulled out of Pittsburg - rolling down the eastern seaboard..."
Theoretically - that is correct. I have not been too impressed in home construction techniques of the recent past.
However, we'd look at modular 'seriesly' if we were thinking of moving to a new place. Unless we could get one from the 20's or 30's. I know, a bit of luddite.
Some of those 20's and 30's homes, especially the Bungalow and Arts and Crafts types were actually 'package homes'. Sears sold the plans for them! But I believe they were still 'stick built' and back then, folks had the skills to do it. I'd love to live in an old established neighborhood, if I could find a house on a BIG lot!
It's not just the technique, it's slip shod crap too!
My boss bought a house that's 6 years old. They didn't bother to do the flashing around the windows so now they leak everytime it rains and blows. I think he's got a home warranty with it but it'd still aggravate the h*ll out of me because the morons couldn't do the job right the first time.
Now he's getting all new siding put on...he caught 'em triming the windows with particle board fercryinoutloud!
Ah, so you did get our rain! You have two gigs this weekend, right? Did you get in the practice last night, or just the jam?
Sunny day here. I have loads of packing to do.
