Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Tree and flower and leaf and grass

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Hello everyone, doing a flyby today! Who's the nice lad in the first kilt picture? I understnd theres an American kilt company that sells them not only in plaid, but in basic business and khaki colors...I am trying to get the hubby to wear one...he has NICE legs. Figure its the least he can do since he won't wear knee breeches for me.

W, would you want to send some books along with your care packages? I am in the process of buying the hard cover of the POB series, and have practically all the paperback ones. I have already made my first pass through the canon and would love to share them with anyone over there. FReepmail me if you think this is a good idea.

Today was the first Sunday I had to work my 6am-3pm schedule. My "lunch" is at 9:15am, which is smack-dab in the middle of my favorite radio station's Sunday gospel show.

Though the radio station is country, Sunday morning they play anything that has a spiritual bent: heck, this morning they played "Spirit In The Sky." But they played some "non-country" gospel this morning, one of my favorites, "Search Me, Lord," which I was singing as I walked back into the building:

Search me, Lord!
Please, search me, Lord!
Turn the light from Heaven
On my soul!
If you find anything that shouldn't be,
Take it out and straighten me!
I wanna be right!
I wanna be saved!
Oh, I've got to be whole!

You just have to sing that song with your arms wide open!

uh-huh, Just like I had to relearn how to make coffee. I have also been known to make it *strong*.

Think PE is poking fun at us :-)

I've never heard that song, though it sounds pretty moving!

Swinging your arms out wide in church sounds like a good way to knock out your neighbor...

The church just called, they are running a teacher short for VBS which starts... tomorrow.

Said I would be happy to help out, but they should know that I have a bitty girl and also on Friday she has her two months shots, youch!

I am slated to teach 2nd graders, cool!

I predict the only problem I will have is getting elf-boy to wear something ~other~ than his Spiderman costume (birthday present from gamma) in the mornin.

Not if they have their arms wide, too!

I got away with it ... the parking lot was pretty empty (it being Sunday, and all) and I don't think any human heard me ... but did I get some peculiar stares from the pigeons and grackles!

I try to ignore other people. I mentioned upthread that hymns get funny reactions from others, in parking lots. Their loss!

Possibly.
You've read my horrible coffee brewing instructions I guess..
..I don't understand why some people don't like it.
It's a perfectly docile brew...
*chuckle*

"Thread meltage?"

Yes, if I remember my chemistry class right the melting point of threads is about 6,000 posts Fahrenheit.
