Special Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Wish I wasn't so bad at talking to people...
And that there could be a double wedding... ;-)

Rick,
I received your letter with the knife and shears the other day. It was a shock. It's not every day sone you don't know gives you something useful like this. Thank You.
Your kind of support is rare. Let's hope that all of our efforts in Iraq create lasting peace and prosperity for its people.
Respectfully, Shawn
Had a fantastic trail ride! We started out on an 8 mile loop, went through tall timber and young timber, and some where they were just beginning to log but it was all quiet 'cuz it's Saturday.
Well, we got all the way around the 8 mile loop before we realized we missed a turnoff that would have gone up to see a waterfall that has a good rest stop. Well we were feeling great, horses were doing great so we went around again.... and missed the turnoff again, or rather, we took one, but it was just a different way back, still not leading to the falls. So we missed seeing that today. Have to go again from a different trail head where I ~know~ how to get there. Had a very good long ride, probably 15 miles.
My friend Tiffney is rifing her little Arab mare, ecurbh is riding the chestnut QH.
This was a spot where we stopped to have a candy bar and drink of water break.
I'd just drag 'em all out on the counter anyway...
It's nice to hear from my son. I hadn't heard from him in awhile. :) I guess I should write to him more often too. He should be in the Middle East by the end of August. One month later he'll be in Iraq. His wife misses him but they both know that it's a job that has to be done.
Shawn is a good guy. He's on my profile page in case anyone would like to see him.
Bless your heart,((((( Rosie)))))
So did ecurbh like the trail ride? He doesn't look unhappy in the pictures. ;o)
That's where half of mine are because I don't have room for ALL of them in the cabinets all at one time, hence the need for a new kitchen!
Thanks for dropping by the Hobbit Hole. It's always great to hear from the folks who receive the knives, AND their parents!
He loved it, and was ready to go for another loop!
I'm trying to get over this sinus infection and just started on the antibiotics yesterday. They always make me feel funky, on top of the crappy feeling of the nose stuff.
They're all good guys, and gals. Words can't express our gratitude at the job they've chosen. So our simple gifts, and humble prayers, are the best we can do.
Thank you, Shooter, for raising such a fine son, and for your own past service to our country.
Aww... sounds like you've had a rough day, and I doubt your family will understand that. We do, though, so when you're done being cheerful for them, come back here and we'll sympathize.
Glad for your brother... Congratulate him for us. Is this the brother that is/was a freeper in the early days of LoTR news?
Gotten to know her any better? - How much longer are they staying?
I hadda check into the Hobbit and Fox holes before rearranging muh drawers.
JenB, read your post about towing a trailer and driving two vehicles. Has your dad considered a small U-Haul or Ryder Truck and towing your car on front wheel carrier (IRRC your car is front wheel drive). Options include one way rental - other driver/rider flies back or two way rental, others drive it back. The small trucks have power and a/c these days. Might be worth looking into.
We were planning to do just that, until we saw the price. It'd cost $2000 that way! Which seemed incredible, but there it was. This way will cost maybe a tenth of that.
The freeper is her other California brother. This is the one she talked about last night of Entmoot - do you remember that?
Evening; great pics of the trail ride, beautiful country, looks like the trail is well maintained. Looked a bit chilly, jackets and all. Thanks for posting.
WN: we appreciated the invite but chat-view with webtv doesn't work too well. We run it and the dvd through our tv.
re the G'nads and MoJAM, hope they can make it. Sounds like he's having fun with the tractor.
