Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Tree and flower and leaf and grass
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

It's so cool to me to sort of be able to "see" Autumn and the other Hobbit Hole kids growing up!
Congrats on the new arrivals! ;-)

So far: 3 books sold at a penny apiece; calculated cost of listing, packaging and mailing, charged that and got it; result, for the cost of one stop on the way to work, netted $.03. WooHoo!Woo-hoo! You'll be rich in no time at that rate!

I went over to the cooking store today, and they had one o' them coffee makers for half price. I couldn't resist...
I tried it out for an after lunch coffee, and it turned out wonderfully! Very flavorful coffee, and that was the VEY cheapest of my coffee beans...I was afraid I'd mess something up the first time. Had a sort of latte (not much milk) with a little whipped cream on top and it was heavenly.

Mst be something wrong with me...I might have seen that Steve Martin show twice , both times over 15 years ago, and that quote brought it all (OK, a lot of it) back.I casually mentioned it at work yesterday. You could tell the folks who had heard of Steve Martin before. ROFL

I thought you wuz gonna go do errands?
What are you doin' here spilling the thread?
I'm now pinging. Too much strong coffee. And I'm kinda sorta supposed to go out to the house, since everyone is hanging out, but I'm feeling intensely antisocial.

It was pretty good, yeah. And it's on video, must have just come out.
I got a ton of stuff! An electric wok, bunch of tupperware dishes, that sort of thing. And a really nice microwave.

I did most of 'em. Waitin' on the wife to finish dealing with clothes in Jr's room then we're gonna run to one store together and she's going on to the grocery store. I'll come home and bathe the shaggy dog and work in Jr's room. But I don't plan to get much done there today.
Need to mow, but it's right hot outside...
To: JenB
Exciting getting all your own house accessories, isn't it?
Sigh...I should do something other than Freep, but I don't feel like working on the garden, plus it looks like rain, plus I should probably go to the house...but I don't wanna.
Feeling down today for no real reason.
And I want my Mom.

I need to mow, too. But then I'd have to change, and it looks like it's gonna rain, so it'll grow a couple inches in the night anyway...
Might as well wait for tomorrow.

You should just re-arrange the drawers... Didn't re-arrangin' drawers have something to do with why PE and msdrby just had to repaint that one room with flowers and stuff? :-)

*Hugs*. It's all right to feel down sometimes. It's a female sort of thing. Don't do anything you don't want to.
I admit, I am excited about all this. My stack of things keeps getting higher, though it's still pretty pathetic. Three weeks from today, I'll be moving into my own apartment. Wow.

I won't have any upper cabinets to the right of it like I have now with my stove. I'm going to have to design some drawers to hold the spices, etc. It will take some getting used to! Old habits is hard to break! That would take me a while too Suzi. But, you would be completely comfortable in my kitchen. I've had the spices in the upper cabinet to the right of the stove for 25 years now. In all 3 houses I've owned!! :-)

Actually we've been re-planning. If we can borrow a car from someone for my sister to drive, we can use our suv to haul a trailer. Then I could take a bed along, if I can find one cheaply.
If not, I'm borrowing my grandmother's, she doesn't use it often.

I guess if all else fails, there's the floor and a sleeping bag...
Brother just called to announce they're officially engaged! He took her up on a hilltop yesterday and proposed, and she accepted. Not unexpected...but I'm still tryin' to wrap my head around that idea. He's still my little brother, after all. When did he suddenly grow up?
Some of us are maybe gonna go out to eat to celebrate in about an hour or so. Maybe have a few pints, too...or the equivalent. I don't do beer, but I'd be happy to toast them with a glass of white wine.

Well, congrats on a new sister, I think.
Have to go help with dinner now. Oh, but I'm tired! Dunno why, even.
