New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Yeah, I found that out :/
Good morning one and all!!
Am I the first one awake?
This really turned out to be a special morning for us. Last week, we discovered a male & female Oriole had built a nest in our magnolia tree in the side yard. We've been "watching" them for the past week, as they've been acting a bit odd.
This morning, I woke up to a wierd sound coming from the nest that I hadn't heard in a very long time. I grabbed the binolculars, and sure enough, there are three little new-born Oriole heads peeking up from the nest. I woke up Autumn to show her, and she was estatic. She asked me to tape it..."Get it on tape, Daddy...get the taper!", so I taped them at 'feeding time' for a few minutes.
We then ate some Count Chocula and watched the tape about a dozen times in a row. lol
It's the little things like that which make it all worthwhile, you know?
*yawn* Mornin' Seamus.
Some of us did a chat view last night, so it was almost 1:00 EST when I got in bed.
Off to run some errands.
Wonderful story about the Orioles.
Bunch of night owls!
Well, Ruthy and I were the only ones on the EAST coast. It was at least an hour earlier for everyone else...
See you later.
need some more global warmin' around here...70's and cloudy in fargin' July...
...and how are you?
Morning All; popped in to say Hey, sipping a second cup and running a self-diagnostic-most systems running within normal parameters. Need another cup before heading in to the office.
Glad to hear the Chat-View came to pass. Been enjoying the pings and mini dramas. But have been scarcer than normal-what ever that is.
Weather unseasonably pleasant so far but I think it will change by Thursday. Heading out then to the Bow-Bee aka MoJAM VI at Marshall MO. 3 Days of Bow Building, Visiting, Shooting and telling tall tales.
SYL
Very cool about the Orioles!
Yes, we did have the chat view last night.... and that had us up pretty late, but I am so keyed up about taking ecurbh on this trail ride today that I couldn't sleep a wink!
I tossed and woke up every couple hours till I could finally get up now!
Good morning osage and LSAggie!
Moring!
Having some coffee in a proper coffee mug and watching Mr. Ed. Wilbur's trying to get him to clean his room.
"Of course, Ed! Now pick up those depends or no more carrot juice."
Morning all! Going to garage sales this morning, again.
OT, how does a horse clean his room?
Verrrry carefully!
Kewl....the Cubs Cards game is on the Tee Vee today and I have just enough time to listen to last night's game. Let's play two!
I was watchin (and fell asleep just before I had to chenge disks). elf-boy, bitty girl and I are all headed to mom's today, so I am taking themovie over there.
We are going to get bitty girl's picture made, elf-boy is gettign an early birthday present, and we are giogn to celebrate my baby brother's birthday (he is 25 today).
I am giving PE a kidless day. He deserves it :-)
*sigh* typos... I really should proofread these posts ahead of posting.
giogn is my most common typo!
Mornin'.
My little brother's birthday is comin' up too. Next week. Can't figger out what to get him. Always end up getting him fishin' stuff. Trying for new ideas this year before heading for the fishing dept. :-)
The Oriole story is one that will be remembered by Autumn too! My kids remember things like that. I can't remember half of 'em. But, they remind me. It is really cool now to have them say, "mom - do you remember when we..."
FWIW Texas is normal this morning.... cept we're sposed to have rain this weekend. That ain't normal. Right now it's sunny and a lovely HOT! :-)
Yeah, but we've been missing you! Chat-view was fun but woulda been nice if you were there. :-)
Heading out then to the Bow-Bee aka MoJAM VI at Marshall MO. 3 Days of Bow Building, Visiting, Shooting and telling tall tales.
Gnad goin too?
