Special Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I started that one too...
*sigh*
It just sounds like pointless power trippin' to me. I mean...there are things we keep people from doing, but that's pretty ridiculous.
We DO have the computers in the labs set so individuals can use their own settings, and maybe that's why it's not an issue...but I kinda doubt you do a lot of computer swapping in the average office. You should be able to set it how you like it.
You're forgiven, as far as I'm concerned! ;~D
Was that the time that guy was telling everyone to boycott LOTR, and came onto the HH and threatened to photoshop pictures of our families?
That was bizarro.
You're right.
ROFLMAO!!
"You'll just have to get that screen a little fuzzier for us, mmmmkay? It's for the good of the company, doncha know. All employees who violate this highly-important resolution Resolution will be scolded emphatically in front of their co-workers and have to wait last in line on donut Wednesdays. And you know what that means...nothing but pink glazed with candy sprinkles left in the box."
Boogers for Brains....yup.
Well, it doesn't. Until I get a software that I have to teach which requires certain parameters. And then for the IT guy to set the whole bunch of 'em to a lower setting makes it not work for me.
Sure, it only took me a few minutes to change 'em all back. But, to do it on 22 computers was a pain... when they were all set just fine before that guy changed 'em.
I don't get it. Why does IT care?
~smiles~
Gonna take my coffee, which still doesn't look as tasty as that cup you posted the other day, and watch some of the satellite...Matthew wants this computer.
See you all later! If they shut down this Hole...I'll see you in the next!
"So if you could just go ahead and change your screen resolution back, that would be greeeaaat, mmmmkay? Did you get the memo about the screen resolutions? I'll make sure you get another copy, then."
Yes, that was the one.
Yeah, that was weird. I think we'd been sort of following his insane threads and remarking on their insanity, so we weren't quite blameless.
I'd've never guessed...
figgers you'd pickup on a rod comment...
That's what I'm thinkin'!!!
I thought we had it set up conveniently for everyone in the classroom. I think that 1280 X 1024 setting was clear for all programs. And yet, we have Go Back software on the computers so that if a student in another class uses the computer he can reset the screen as he wants. When it gets shut down the computer reverts back to the original settings. That way students can be a little more free with their choices and yet the computers are set pretty optimally for everyone.
I know, I'm just on the IT rant after yesterday. Other folks got other reasons for doin' what they do.
BWAAAHAHAHAHA!!!
I resemble that remark after sending the email to the head of IT about resolution in my classroom huh? :-)
Oh well, at least I nicely explained why! LOL
don't go makin' any Freudian analysis of my comments...
I'm a straight up kinda guy...
then why'd you bring it up again?
