Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

That's about the point where I'd just bring in about twenty yards of sand, call it a sandbox, and invest in oversize sandbox toys. :-)

We watched the movie Dummy, the other night. You were right about the language, but it was a hilarious, and very sweet movie! SSQ like the way the dummy voiced Adrien Brody's thoughts rather than it being a 'stream of consciousness' thing.

His Grandmother called him earler and asked him to come over for dinner Sunday night. He told her "Sorry, we've got plans with dad all day". Sounds like a fine young man!

Morning! Izzit Friday?
Back at work--- have to try to make up for 4 11+ hour days' worth of work lost to the bowels of Microsoft.
I'm beyond overjoyed.

Morning. We lost power at 9 o'clock last night and it came on sometime around 1. I gave up and went to bed at 9:30. So why am I tired?
Got to work early today as I'm leaving at three.

Sounds like to me you've had pretty good luck with everything. Your garden and yard seem to be coming along quite well!Still don't have chives, though. It's looking like I'll have to buy plants for those...the seeds just didn't take. And I planted a bunch of marigolds that never came up. I'm trying some more seeds in another place.
The good thing is...it's late enough in the season that some places are selling seeds for as little as ten cents a packet, so trying again (at least with flowers) isn't a big deal.

Morning, everyone.
The wedding is in 3 days, is that right?
Spent the weekend over on Chololoskee Island, in the Everglades, with some friends. Went fishing down to Lostman's River, did pretty well.
Truly beautiful area.
