Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...That none have seen but we alone.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I think you know the ~right~ answer.... but makin' it happen is the tough part. Good luck. Hopefully, it won't get too bitter, it's not right, the way it's been.

...and when there was no meat, we ate fowl and when there was no fowl, we ate crawdad and when there was no crawdad to be found, we ate sand.
You ate what?
We ate sand.
[pause]
You ate SAND?
That's right!

I did not know they were making 620 a toll road!

Well, sort of... the toll road will be Texas Highway 45. It will run from the intersection of I35 & 1325 to the intersection of 620 & 183. I'm not sure where it will go from there, but it's taken over 620 between Parmer and 183. 620 may remain 620 beyond that!

A lady who hasn't seen me in a few months came up and said "Have you lost weight?", and when I said yes, she said "I thought you looked like you'd lost a LOT of weight. You're a shadow of your former self!"

Pretty neat! Sounds like you're doing good :) I'm in a rut right now because my sleep schedule is off, which always throws my exercise schedule off when that happens--need to get back on track.

Thanks. My oldest son just walked in the door and I brought up the subject. He nipped it in the bud tonight. His Grandmother called him earler and asked him to come over for dinner Sunday night. He told her "Sorry, we've got plans with dad all day".

I was getting hyper for nothing.

Thanks again!

Okay, I've seen those Texas Highway 45 signs the last few times I've been through there. I didn't know that's what they were doing.

BUT, if that's where they're putting it.... I can get around that! :-)

"My smaller jeans are size 10, yes. They're still tight, so a ways to go, and I haven't lost any actual weight in a couple weeks - I think the exercise is exchanging fat for muscle, which is good, but not as nice as weighing less."

Exchanging fat for muscle is very good! In the short term it may not cause immediate weight drop but in the long term it's a big step. You're making terrific progress.
