Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...That none have seen but we alone.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Her family is really neat. Her Dad is an Army vet who served in Vietnam. I haven't seen him for a while, but I HAVE to ask him what he thinks of Jean al Query! He detested x42! Her Mom is a Clinical Psychologist, her older brother graduated from the AF Academy in 2000 and is doing missle stuff in Montana, and her younger brother is at Annapolis and is joining the Marines!

It sounds like four members of that family have earned our Hobbit Hole knife. Maybe it would be easiest to send them to the parents, and let them parcel the knives out. :)

grrrrr....Matt Lauer is such a POS...

he just asked Bush41 "you must've had disagreements with Reagan, do you remember them?"

Always class, Bush 41 said "I remember them, but I see no point in bringing them up now."

Morning... ugh, I did not sleep well. Stupid dreams all night. Ten minutes to check my email, and then it's off to the salt mines.

I hate Mondays.

Noodling is where you put your hand into a hole in the bank of a river and just as a catfish clamps down on it, you grab it by it's soft insides and pull it out!

I'm dying to give it a try! There is a town south of OKC that is having a noodling contest and I want to go! It's after Hair's wedding, so I'll still have all ten nails for Wneighbor to paint for the wedding!

Well...that's good news, if a bit bittersweet!

Mornin' Ruthy.

Tell you what. You represent me at wedding-moot, and I'll represent the Hobbit Hole in DC this week. I don't know if there will be an opportunity to leave anything, but if there are Hobbit Hole messages, I'd be willing to try.

I don't think they'd let me leave the shoes.

Sticklebats!

I've got a meeting that Rasputin set up for 10:00 a.m. I was figgerin' an hour. He just told me that it's scheduled from 10 until flippin' 3:00 O'CLOCK.

I hate socialists.

Wow.... 10-3 is a long meeting... you ought to be able to get a ~lot~ accomplished in all that time!

Does Rasputin at least order good lunches?

You've got yourself a deal, Corin.

I just remembered a long-buried memory. My class in elementary school all brought in bags of jellybeans and our teacher packaged them and sent them to the White House, along with our little drawings of patriotic images. My 3rd grade teacher loved Reagan!
