Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Mmmmm! Shrimp!
Apparently this guy didn't like my humor...maybe I should tell him my Hokey and Pokey joke??
It was just a bit of fun!

Yeah, mine are frozen, too. I find the secret to making them edible is thawing them in cool water right before eating. Don't let them thaw in the fridge, it makes the edges nasty.

Yeah, that's the way I thaw 'em, too. But they always seem...I dunno...somewhat less flavorful than the stuff you cook right then. Still good, though!
I think I know what's for dinner...

Halfway through the day! I'm leaving at 4:30, have to pick my sister up from her job, load my car with bothers, and get to the theater early. There's eleven of us seeing the film, we need an entire row. Besides, standing in line for movies is fun.
Man... no LotR this year. No line parties or "three more days".

I have a request for some information for the HOLE dwellers here.
I have a set of old Dark Shadows paperback novels (some date back to the early 70's) and some are in protecter jackets.
I have nearly all the novels in that series, I would like to try to sell them as a set as the books are in fair condition, some in mint condition. Are there any Dark Shadows fans who would be interested in buying them?
How much would I get for them?
I also have some Sci/Fi magazines and comic books from the 70's and 80's in good condition. one is a Dark Shadows comic book from the 70's and there are a couple of magazines and a comic book with a Dr. Who theme and one about Star Trek The Next Generation. (interview with Wil Wheaton) dated in the 80's.
Where can go to find out where I can sell them or is anyone here interested in buying them?

Yep!
And maybe, just maybe...someone will actually do the Chronicles of Narnia well. Those aren't LOTR...but I'd wait in line for 'em!

I haven't started reading them yet but I saw the first HP movie a few weeks ago on TV. I'm interested in reading the books now.

I enjoyed the heck out of the books...JKR has, if anything a delightful sense of humor...and there are a lot of tongue-in-cheek things in her books.
Told my parents I was taking Erin to see it and now they are all nervous "should she go see it? I heard it was really dark ... and it has all that 'witchery' stuff in it."
Thing is, they will never read the books themselves. Can't even get my dad interested in the manly novels of Patrick O'Brian.
*sigh*
Reconfirmation that I always was the 'different' one in the family.
