That's an interesting idea, but how's she gonna hold on to it? ;~D
Hi, you guys.
I think I'm taking down my regular flag, and flying my one from the 82nd in Afghanistan for the rest of today.
Otherwise, just taking it easy. I usually stay away from the ocean on long weekends like this, and just hide in my house, it gets too crazy out on the water. Everyone that owns a boat is out there, half of 'em drinking, it's overrun with LEO's, etc.
Might go out for Thai food for dinner, though.
We watched the Last Samurai the other day, which I liked, surprisingly.
Thought of you with all the archery stuff in there. What about the bows, Osage?
Understood about avoiding the public! I shake my head at friends that go camping on long weekends like this. Jeepers... Take a vacation day in two weeks if'n you want to go camping.
I wish we had a pole out in the pasture or other dignified place to fly our Aghanistan flags at home. Hanging them off the porch of this old trailer just seems very insulting to them!
I think everyone was too stunned at me waterskiing to actually take a pic.
OTOH, I've enjoyed seeing your horses. Is Osagebowman making them pony bows?
Hair; Heh, actually a short recurve type bow, similar to the ones the Plains Indians used when they buffalo hunted from horseback. A short powerful bow, meant to drive arrow through a buffalo at close range, 10 feet or so. Since there aren't many horse mounted buffalo hunts around here, I'm making the bow with a target weight.
Sam, haven't seen it but another archer did and said the bows looked good to him. The yumi bow is quite different than most we're familiar with, it has two recurve angles in the upper limb and one on the lower. Generally laminated bamboo construction. Also, they are being made out of fiberglass now since the handmade bamboo versions are very pricey.
Best get to the tillering tree, SYL
Heh.... Apparently it is not a bow for the pony after all ;~D I am relieved... Not sure the pony is to be trusted with a weapon!
If the trailer is the home of you and your animals, I'm sure it would be an honor for the flag to fly there :-)
Back later, going for a jog.
Thanks for the post! We are getting ready to celebrate Memorial Day at my mother's. Gotta get more pictures today and update our photos.
I am a grumpy msdrby today... lack of sleep & itchy all over. Pray for PE :-) He might need some uplifting vibes today.
babygirl is doing well. She has grown a whole inch in 2 weeks. Her doc was concerned that she is not yet back to birthweight (9 lbs 5 oz). However, the lactation consultant says her current 9 lbs isn't something to worry about... yet.
Thanks to all of you on this thread who are vets! And thanks to the rest of you who, with me, support all our vets in prayer.
I am thankful to be able to memorialize those who have given all for my freedom as I know all of you are.
And I just wanted to start the day by saying so!
Wow, you really did your memorial post up with style. Very nice!
Just how brilliantly did that wonderful toast go? I know it *had* to be wonderful! :-)
Thanks Corin - nice to have a reminder of what it's really about.
Excellent!
I think I know about those different muscles! I got up on skis about 3 years ago for the first time in 20 years. I was initially shocked that I could still pop right up out of the water. That lasted about 10 seconds before my muscles were screaming, "What the h*!! are you doing to us!" I think I skied about 500 yards before I was looking for an excuse to crash!
One of my co-workers and family had taken Myranda and I out because Myranda wanted to learn to ski. Of course, being as stupidly prideful as I am, and with the friends all being surprised that I could actually ski, then I had to prove to them that I could ski on one ski. I did. But, that only lasted about 100 yards before I was lookin' for an excuse to crash again! LOL
I loved it. But, I paid for it for several days. I am stickin' to my long time fitness program of pushing my bike out of the garage now! :-)
Hmmm... I used to live on the lake out west of Austin. That was how we had to handle holiday weekends. Never leave the house! Wasn't unusual to have to call the sherriff out to get rid of people disrespectful of our home. Lake would get so crowded that people would park in my yard and we couldn't even get out. For those, I called the local wrecker company.
Hehehe... I thought OT was quiet and peaceful looking all through Entmoot! Guess you have explained it! :-)
Forget Me Nots in the front yard.
have prayed for PE and you! LOL
Hope ya'll have a good day over at your mom's.
Myranda had the same kind of thing happen as you are describing with babygirl. I was also told by lactation experts that it was normal for nursing babies but not for bottle-fed babies. Docs tend to focus their expertise on bottle babies. I think no worries.
