Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

"Delta Dawn"
Delta Dawn! What's that flower you have on?
Could it be a faded rose from days gone by?
And did I hear you say
He was a-meetin' you here today
To take you to his mansion in the sky?
She's forty-one and her daddy still calls her "baby."
All the folks 'round Brownsville say she's crazy,
'Cause she walks 'round town with a suitcase in her hand,
Lookin' for a mysterious dark-haired man.
In her younger days, they called her Delta Dawn,
The prettiest woman you ever laid eyes on!
Then a man of low degree stood by her side,
Promised her he'd take her for his bride.
Delta Dawn! What's that flower you have on?
Could it be a faded rose from days gone by?
And did I hear you say
He was a-meetin' you here today
To take you to his mansion in the sky?

A Denethor Flambé on top would be too much, I suppose...

Yeah....but it'd be great for a birthday cake!

We're gonna see "Day After Tomorrow". It looks dreadful, but with great disaster effects. That's all I ask for my long-weekend kick-off celebration.

We have tickets to see it at a matinee this afternoon. Looks like a good movie to make fun of!

it'd be great for a birthday cake! That would be perfect! A little "running Denethor" figurine, with his head on fire....
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Absolutely! And next week is "Harry Potter", so we wanted to see the laughable movie now before we forget. Now there's a movie my whole family (except Dad) is looking forward to.

Don't ask me... ask your boss...
My boss might not notice if I left early, he never leaves his office.

My boss was the only one still at work...
We rotten mice all ran off and left the cat. ;-)
OK, off to rent ROTK, maybe. She wants Lion King 1 1/2 instead. *sigh* again.

Low carb recipe for ya!
Gotta hankering for mexican food?
Find some canned black soybeans. I got mine at the healthfood store...not all that expensive even.
Get yourself some low carb tortillas...
Take out 1/2 cup of the beans and warm them up in the microwave.
Take the tortilla, butter one side and put it in a skillet butter side down, put an ounce of shredded chedder cheese in it and fold it over. Fry it till slightly brown.
Place the cheesy torilla on top of the beans and add a scoop of sour cream and a tablespoon of picante. Mmmmm!
Net carbs..
Tortilla=4g
Black soybeans =1g
Cheese= .5g
Sour Cream=1g
Picante sauce 1g
Can add grilled chicken or steak slices to it, I bet and it would taste great...but I just ate it this way and it was fantastic.

Sounds good!
I haven't found a low-carb tortilla I like yet. Some are edible but give me stomach trouble afterwards. I eat my tacos wrapped in big romaine leaves. It's almost as good.
