Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

WN style wedding cakes. Groom's cake on the left. Bride's cake on the right.

Fabulous picnic and party at the lake that day was!

I told Dona about a wedding 'cake' I saw in a magazine where the cakestand was all the tiers like a wedding cake would have, but the cake was a bunch of beautifully decorated cupcakes! You wouldn't have to cut it! I thought it was marvelous but Dona made a face that said "no".
~shrugs~ I don't even know what kind of cake we are having, and I don't really care what flavor it is!
She also made a face about me wanting to use silk flowers for the bouquets and corsages/boutonnieres. The last thing I wanted to worry about was picking up fresh flowers at the last minute and storing them in the fridge that is filled with food too. But I did it anyway.
Evidently the ~cake~ of all things is going to have fresh flowers on it. ~smiles and shrugs~

I'm not going to have a bride's cake, it'll just be a wedding cake. And it'll be chocolate if I want it.
The nicest wedding I've ever been to was very simple and cheap, but it was Christmastime and they used pointsettas and Christmas stuff to decorate the church. Just lovely.

Oh dear. Dona sure wouldn't have liked my cakes would she?
I think the cupcakes sound darlin! And I'm with you on the flowers too. PQ's mom is a wonder at flower arrangement. She and I went to a craft store about a month before the wedding and I just showed her what silk flowers I liked and she went to work. They were gorgeous! I loved 'em! I don't know what the big deal is about that.
I go with the 2 cake idea cause it's fun to have 2 flavors of cake. I don't like cake much myself. So, if there are 2 at least I get to pick the better of stuff I don't care for to start with. You know, with that cupcake idea, you could even have more then "2" different choices! :-)

She is doing a great job on all the stuff I just don't know how to have an opinion about. I hope she is enjoying doing that for me because she wants to, and isn't finding me to be just hopeless.

I did my weigh-in this morning. I'm almost back to my lowest number! Another week, or two tops, and I'll be there. Then I can concentrate on getting rid of the last XX pounds... or more likely, two inches here, three inches there, since I'll be working out at the same time and will probably have muscle weight...Good going! Yeah, concentrating on the inches is probably the best move, since the scale doesn't really tell ya everything. I'm still eager for the time when my weight isn't classified...right now I'd still be ashamed to put the number down here in public, though I'm getting there. Five more pounds and maybe I won't mind so much!
