Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Fort Collins is about an hour or so north of Denver.I thought the Denver airport was about 40 minutes north of the town! That would be VEY convenient!

Good morning!
I was about to wish it was Friday, but then I remembered I have tomorrow off. So today is Friday! But I have to host a bored meeting this morning. :( I'm going to try to keep it to an hour, but it is the type of meeting that never satisfies anybody and afterward I get a week's worth of email telling me everything they thought was wrong with the meeting. Tho, I have most of those people on my spam list. :P

Sounds like someone has more time on their hands during the day than you do and is trying to be a good neighbor. Yeah, that's the ticket! I think that's the most logical explanation, especially as the folks next door are really nice homeschoolers and I noticed their lawn was mowed yesterday, too.
But I'm not good at that humility thing! And I'm still embarrassed!

Morning; not sure if we can get the hobbitholecam, it had a message about contacting host and the auto refresh was reloading on a ten second interval. At least we didn't get a red x box, so we're hopeful.
Cool that 2J and the Bears will be able to make to the wedding as well. The live cam on the flight from Dallas would be a hoot.

Good morning!
I'm thinking of asking for a half day tomorrow...so it may be pretty close to Friday for me. I'd like to do some outdoor work...I'm hoping to do something like a rock garden over the next few years. May go out to the house and get a buncha rocks...siblings are good forced labor. ;-)

Fort Collins is about an hour or so north of Denver. When you come out, it'll be no trouble to pick you up at the airport!Ok, that's not bad! I wasn't sure how far away it was.

Mornin'!
I'm having a slow start today....female problems kept me in bed for a while. I keep thinking it's Friday, for some reason, but at least I followed the Thursday schedule and not the Friday one
I meant to be around last night, but the bothers were wild so I took 'em to the bookstore, and then I lifted, and then I hung out with my mom for a while. Ah well.
Did you see, Rosie, that we had exactly the same number of posts last week? That's a little freaky.

Have you thought about using landscape fabric under your rock garden? It's one of the best investsments you can make if you're not a committed weed-puller-upper.

Good morning all! Gotta get some sandals, apparently! What about some of
these?I swear, when I was a teenager, everyone had a pair of these! They originated down there on the beach where I grew up.

Now I have to go shopping for a floral print dress ( I usually just do solids) some shoes, and shorts that don't have Woodlawn Bedroom White on 'em.

Ugh...I'm sooo stir-crazy these days. I want to just get in the car and go somewhere, anywhere, or go for a hike or SOMEthing. Good thing there's a weekend coming up! And what with picking up the kids on Saturday and meeting up with Suzi on Sunday, I should have enough driving and getting out and about to satisfy even me. Spring fever, I guess!

I've never heard of such a thing! But it sounds intriguing. Is it expensive? I'm on a shoestring budget here...planting seeds instead of plants for the most part since plants cost more...

And not only that...when my mom was cleaning out her 300M to trade in, she found my Wayfarers! She got me these standard black Wayfarers years ago for Christmas and I lost them about a year and a half ago. I was just devastated, because they are so expensive, I could never afford to buy another pair!
They are a little loose on my face...stretched-out feeling...I guess I could get them adjusted?
