Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Skipping ahead: if that ain't Serkis pushing past Frodo, arms full of pumpkin, I'll eat my... ...entire supply of cocoa puffs. Start munching... It isn't Serkis ~or~ the Deagol actor.

He is pretty cute. A little too... boyish for my tastes, but pleasant to look at. And a nice accent.

No, they don't understand real men. Real men are hairy and sweaty and moody and testosterone-y; they need and want and demand and insist on responses and committments and promises and vulnerabilities these women are afraid to give.

Watching the ending now.... Frodo looks good again, and Galadriel and Elrond took too much Dramamine.

I have one 2-3 person tent...could probably find at least one more to borrow.
I wish I wasn't so afraid of adventures!
The catch is that Margaret and Stephen will be gone and I'm SUPPOSED to pick them up on Saturday. Now...if I can figure out an alternate ride for them without involving Jim, who I'd like to convince to come with me so I wouldn't be so scared...I MIGHT be able to be convinced.
Only thing is...I wonder if all campgrounds are already booked this close to a big weekend like that.

I'm not afraid of adventures! C'mon, let's do this if we can. Easier said for me, of course, I only hafta worry about myself.
And surely we could find a campground with spots for two tents... do some calling, maybe. I've only been camping once, and I was five at the time. It'd be great. I can give you all the Agatha Christie and Brother Cadfael mysteries I really need to get rid of (about thirty of 'em)...

I managed to catch some of the Hornblower series with Ioan Griffud (Msp??) and while pleased, not entirely taken with the characters. Hornblower struck me as rather ...well, not as nice as Jack Aubrey. He seemed like he was only tolerating people and would rather be off somewhere NOT with them, no matter who they were.Good take! Horatio is a sweet kid, but he's deathly afraid of screwing up. He is introspective and, really, is his own best company ... but he doesn't think he's superior; he thinks he's inferior.

I am finished with video filming now! I know you're glad you're done! You sure weren't pleased when you got the project, but I knew you'd do a good job. You wouldn't allow yourself to do anything less!

"Well, I'm back." Same here, after fighting my way through EarthlinkMoriaISP. Connecting at 40kbs for the first time today, I'm really cruising after dozens of connections at 14.4kbs. And the connection has been up for five whole minutes already.
And it dropped at Minute 6. I'm back again at 36kbs.
